mylot edit button

Why is there no edit button on our discussion and comment posted? Since most of us need to edit our own post or discussion specially if we did something wrong like spelling, forgot to add picture (which happened to me at one of my discussion), or other valid reason. I know that by editing your post means that it will also affect your earnings, but there are plenty of ways to avoid it like locking the posts before adding your earnings and after it is added to avoid further abuse of editing. Another one is to only let a member get a few minutes to edit his/her posts after posting it to correct the mistakes you've done or add something you forgot. How about you, any ideas?

I think it might also cause issues such as people writing something they shouldn't and then if someone reports them and they change it there is no proof. It is highly unlikely there will be trolls doing this but that's one thing I can see wrong. I don't think MyLot will do this and expect us to proof read before posting.

Maybe they can add an additional feature or condition like you can only edit it for 5 minutes after posting it which you can only edit once. They can always do something like that to help us.

Yeah they could do that I suppose, other places do this if you need to edit they give a window of time. It will need to be suggested to them to see if they would want to do this :)

Yes,after posting we can't add or delete anything. We can preview what we are going to post,so that see,how it will appear for others. There should have been an edit button, but that means we can change our question every time, they give us an answer. It will be an unfair advantage.

MyLot can add time limit for the edit button, maybe for 2-5 minutes after posting a discussion or comment. Checking the preview is not enough since mistakes or forgetting some part to be included would be inevitable.

it is going to be too hard to compute for our earnings if mylot should allow us to edit our post. unlike other forums where upon submission your earnings is set to specific amount, such as 0.02 cents a post and even if you edit it or not, it does not have a bearing on any changes made at all. Whereas for mylot, our earnings rather change and is not peg on a specific amount per post and it does vary depending on our number of posts and how well our participation is. i would say that editing posts may actually cause more disruption with this system of computation. Besides, when we need to check out what we have posted, we sure need to make use of the preview button before confirming the post we must make.

There is just one way to edit your post- that is clarify your mistake by writing another sub post to let people know about it. Otherwise there is no other way.

The sub post is only available when you only post on a discussion or someone posted in your discussion. What if one of the problem happen to be at the discussion, you have to wait for someone to comment just to comment what's wrong.

This is a great idea. I often submit, and I catch something but it is too late. This would be a great tool to add to mylot.

Yes but it should not be abused.

I too agreee that mylot should add an edit button. Once I posted on a post and realised that I already posted the same thing on the day before. I was trying to find a way to delete it but there was no way. Maybe there is no option because of the earnings program..
