Have your pets ever ruined your computer?

Well, mine didn't actually ruin the computer, but one of them fried my wireless adapter by spilling a glass of water over it while I wasn't home. I was hoping that drying it out would make it function again (like I've done with my phone before), but to no avail. The computer has an internal wireless antenna, but even five feet from the router, it can't pick up the signal and I can't afford to buy an antenna or another adapter. My computer's old and slow, but since I can't afford to get another one, I'm happy to have it. It's my baby!! Has something like this happened to you? How did you resolve it?

no,but one of my previous cats threw up in the vent of my brother's VCR. at the time they were expensive,so an expensive fix,but i told him it was his own fault for not putting the cover on it.

Yeah, so far that hasn't happened. But, my one cat apparently projectile vomited on my bed all over my clean clothes and ALL of the bedsheets and mattress cover. That's something I just hate especially since I had just washed most of that stuff!!

It will be very painful, however, I will overlook it and try to get another one. What I will do next is try to place my gadgets in a place and way that my pet will not be able to locate with ease. I will also see if I can restrict the movement of my pet when am not at home so that such will not occur again

My situation turned out to be better than I had thought it would be. What got ruined was my USB port extender and not my wireless adapter. That means I can still get online and it'll be cheaper to replace the extender than the adapter. I was happy to discover that!

No this has not happened to me and it will not happen at all because I don't allow pets inside my home. They are all kept in their own house outside my house and even if they are out in the yard they are are trained not to go inside my home so they can't possibly ruin or mess anything inside.

I don't know what I would do if my pets weren't inside. I love holding them and petting them and having them sleep with me. And, if they were outside, there is the risk that cars might hit and kill them or other animals with rabies might bite them. They're safer inside. But, my situation isn't as bad as I thought it was because it turned out to be the USB port extender that was ruined and not the wireless adapter, so I am able to get online without the extender.

Well, it's never been that bad, but the cat has managed to put the computer out of commission for awhile. She's shut off the home network and the wireless internet a couple times by unplugging something. She's also done the exact same thing to the home entertainment center. Every time it's usually been something as simple as plugging something back in or throwing a switch to fix. Now, she's chewed through a phone charger we had to replaced, destroyed three ceramic and glass vases, eaten through the cords of a key necklace and a medallion cord, and chewed holes in bags. Maybe I should count myself lucky she hasn't destroyed anything terribly expensive?

One of our cats is notorious with electrical or connecter cables. She chewed through the power cord to our cable modem, chewed up several pairs of headphones of my daughter including the most expensive ones, literally chewed through the hard plastic water container on the cat watering dish until it leaked constantly, and other assorted items. Another cat chews up paper and cardboard boxes. She does it when she's upset with us and thinks we've been ignoring her needs. But, the spilled water was a first (I admit I'm surprised it took that long to happen, but...) Found that my wireless adapter still works, but the USB extender is what she shorted out. Getting another one of those is cheaper than replacing the adapter, so it ended up being a bit less of a problem than it started.
