Does anyone know where can I adopt a full breed dog for free, if there is any,? I am currently staying here in the Philippines,in the last few weeks, I've been looking for a dog in the net to adopt, but I am not sure if it is safe for there are a lot of scams out there.Where can I adopt one? do you have one ? can I have one? :D I promise to take good care of them.

A purebred dog costs. Nobody will give you one for free, unless it is an abandoned dog. Why don't you think about adopting a dog with no breed? They all need a home and a loving family? You said you "currently" stay in Philippines. Does this mean you are going to change your location soon? If so, have you thought you will have to take the dog with you? Are you prepared for a ten to fourteen years relationship?

Yeah, It's not yet final. Of course. I also had dreams to travel around the world. I am willing to take care of my future pet. Where ever I go, I am taking him/her with me. I am prepared to take good care oh him/her.

You can ask someone in a forum in there. in here there is a forum of pet-lovers and i used to ask a girl to get my cat, Noo some months ago. There are many people who can't care kittens, dogs, they will have a notice in there and leave their phone number, we can call and ask them. I think there is a kind of forum in your place also. I hope you can adopt one dog soon.

Dog for adoption? I have no idea. But you seem to love dogs a lot. I know many dogs for sale but can't really tell you if there are dogs for adoption here in the Philippines. I have 3 dogs but not ready to give them out for adoption.

I agree with kelabetz on finding one at an animal shelter, because some full-bred dogs are unfortunately dropped off there. You can even contact your local shelter and ask them to call if a certain breed comes in. As for the pet shop, I strongly advise you to never support them. They get their puppies from puppy mills, a horrible place where the mother dog is kept in a crate, gives birth to puppies, and then after the puppies are weaned, they go into crates until they are sold to the shop. The mother and the babies don't get to run and play and in many cases, the dogs are maimed or worse from living their life in a crate. These mills should be shut down permanently...

Its great that you want a dog. Most free dogs are from people who want to get rid of them because of a problem, so be careful!

I agree to that, it is just so sad that they would just like to send their pups away just because of health problems.

Hi, I already had most of my say in the previous box, but I also wanted to say another option would be to go to a veterinarian's office, because they would know if a certain breed is going to have puppies. I also want to tell you my experience. I have had both mixed breeds and pure bred dogs and the mixed breed not only are calmer, but they have less health issues. In fact both my pure bred dogs, (a dalmatian and a white German shepherd), had health problems. All my mixed breed dogs were and are very healthy.

If you want a particular dog breed, you should search for a responsible breeder, to be sure you get a healthy animal and one that will be a purebred dog from the breed you like. But responsible breeders won't give you one of their puppies for free. They could offer you a lower price for a dog that is not perfect but for that un-perfect dog you have the guarantee of his health. In my country I couldn't find a purebred dog for free. Even the ones that are not wanted in their former families are sold to the new owners. No full breed dog for free. I don't know how it is in your country but I saw that in some civilized countries, when a dog isn't wanted in his first home, he is offered for adoption for free. Maybe this happens in your country, too. Why don't you put some question at a petshop or at a veterinary office in your area?

Try out in a dog shelter where they allow to take the dogs for care basis although you shall have to give an undertaking that you shall have to return the dog when the owner finds out that his dog is with you. There is almost no chance that you get a full breed for free. Cheers.
