It's reallyreallyreally annoying, seriously! I love google chrome, it's my favourite browser, and so here I am doing my online work then it sticks for like five seconds or so, then it crashes, with a notice saying "The following plug-in has crashed: Shockwave Flash" Does it happen to you guys? It happens several times a day and I just refresh the page and it goes away and I continue like normal, but it's really a nuisance. I have everything updated like flash player and stuff like that. I'm using Windows 7 and I keep on top of all the updates.

I wonder if the problem isn't with Flash itself? The latest update of Firefox and Adobe Flash don't work together. I've been forced to use other browsers for video and some other content because of it. Hopefully, they're working on it.

I know that you're using Chrome. I'm using Firefox and Flash is not working well with either, apparently, so it's Adobe Flash that is the problem. Yes, Adobe is stand-alone software. A lot of things use it.

The problem could be due to a conflict in your OS. Basically in a nutshell Chrome comes packaged with a 'standalone' flash. Sometimes they just don't like to work side by side. Try disabling the 'internal' one. To do that do this method, type "about:plugins" in the address bar (without quotes). Look through the list of plugins you see, you should see 2 flash options or 1 flash and 1 shockwave version. Try disabling the shockwave version and using it on sites to see how it goes. Close your browser and restart it to make sure the changes took effect and visit adobes test page, http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ to make sure your flash is working. Goodluck
