Knowing a person at one time and seeing him or her years later

When I taught at one school the deputy head teacher seemed very memorable to me. He was my teacher when I was in Year six at primary school back in the early 1980s. Funnily enough he didn't recognize me. Being there grown up in today's world I look different to when I was a child. I told my older sister and it made her laugh since he was her teacher too years ago. Have you seen a person that you used to know years ago? If you did then did you recognize each other?

When I was very young, when I was in my teens, I was so head over heels in love with this classmate of mine. She was really pretty! And then I went to college, had to work, and move to a different country. I haven't seen her in over 20 years. But thanks to facebook, I've recently re-connected with her. Sadly, she isn't that stunning anymore.

That would have been funny to see an old teacher from your youth. My mum still runs in to some of my old primary school teachers around town from time to time. Most are retired now though. But they do remember me. I am not sure if that is a good thing or not! The only people I have reconnected with from school days have been on Facebook. If I had come across them in real life first, we probably would have walked right by each other.

I went to a class reunion a few years ago...and our school was so small they did 10 years worth of classes. I had a gal come up to me and hugged me etc. I could not for the life of me remember who she was...in fact I still don't remember anything about her! I felt so bad as she sat next to me and went on and on about memories from our school. She was in a class ahead of me! I just can recall anything about her....

Hi Maxine, Sometimes I myself could not recognize my old friends. You were a child. Now you are mother of children. The teacher had no fault not to recognize you. It is natural.

Yes, you remind me of my subject teacher during elementary days too. He was my teacher when I was on 4th grade and after more than a decade I saw him again and he was able to recognize my younger sister since he was also my younger sister's class advisory teacher. He did not recognized me since I changed a lot from a skinny little girl to a chubby one...hehehe

Oh my teacher when I was in grade two still recognized me even though we dont see each other for 20 years. I saw her in fastfood restaurant in my home town and asked if she still remembered me and she said yes and even know my whole name. She is very kind and beautiful until now and there reason why she never forget me because her daughter name after me. I never taught that she really meant to use my name of her daughter but that was so nice and I am very happy to her.

well yes there are a few people i have met in the past and i did recogize a few of them. I do find it hard to remember peole i have come across with in the past as i tend to remember peoples faces easily. I do not usually rwmember their names though. Hehe

I am rarely the one recognizing others, because I have a very bad memory for faces, but I have good memories and if people introduce themselves, I will probably remember them. I lived in several towns/cities and I have never met again one of my primary school teachers. Thinking about it, I am not very young, and I am not sure they are still alive.

Yes, I saw a man the other day, and I thought he looked very familiar to me. He came to me and said I seemed familiar. I realized that he was this little boy and grown up. He was so mature and different. It is weird how things change.
