I need new clothes so badly!!

It's been a long while since I bought any clothes. I definitely need some new clothes, even if they are only new to me! I am looking for work, but I'm looking for a casual work environment because I really don't have really nice business casual clothes to wear - at least not to last a week. But, I can get by if I'm allowed to wear jeans and casual tops. Still, I need some more clothes so I'm not wearing the same thing all the time. I'm thinking about heading out to the Goodwill, but they're pretty picked over, so I don't always find much. I need to find some other thrift stores to shop where others who wear larger sizes haven't begun to shop. Usually the prices are cheaper because they're not as well known. There are two new ones nearby plus another one I've never checked out because I'm not in that area often. Maybe it's time to get there. And, maybe I'll try to find one in Delaware when I'm down at my 2nd cousin's place on Friday. Sometimes just changing locations can make a difference. So, when you need to get some clothes, do you ever buy re-sale (whether thrift stores, yard sales or consignment stores) or do you only buy retail/new? What's the best deal you've found regardless of where you've found it?

Usually when I'm in need of clothes, I will just get one outfit first and start to search for the others slowly. Because I will already have one to fit my requirement, and I can take the time to choose and look at the price. Just another way to spend lesser on new clothes.

That is true - if I have one outfit that I have just for interviewing, I can then gradually add other items along the way. I can wear it more than once because the people interviewing me won't know I just wore it the day before somewhere else.

You should try thrift stores or consignment shops... I have tons of clothes, especially "business casual" type clothes that I never get a chance to wear (darn dress code at work!). Garage sales are also a good way to get clothes -- usually for real cheap. I never shop full-price. Well, sometimes if I can find something on clearance or sale. But usually I get most of my clothes from thrift stores and consignment shops. Be on the look out for sales too. My consignment shop, at the end of the summer, sells summer "clearance" items for $2 a piece. The only problem with me is that when I find really really good deals, I tend to go a little too crazy and end up buying stuff I will never wear (like business casual clothes). . Good luck!

I think people can look perfectly neat and clean in business casual or even regular casual if they meet certain expectations - no stains, no tears, no skin exposure in the torso. I've seen people look really classy with jeans. So, I really want to work where jeans (clean and not torn) are OK. We were allowed to wear jeans when I was preparing taxes. It didn't keep me from doing a good job. My work proved otherwise, so I'd like to continue with that kind of job. (Not taxes, but where I can work and let my work speak for me.)

Wearing jeans to work can be risky, because we should dress for the position that we want--not the one we have. I have found some really good deals at thrift shops. I'm good at finding brand name apparel in a sea of clothes.

The thing is the job I want is one where I'm allowed to wear jeans. I'm tired of having to pay for "good" clothes that my cats can ruin and that stain easily or that need to be dry cleaned. I want casual clothes that I can wear whether at home or at work. I don't want a "dress code" job. Did that - never want to again. It was all pretension and image without reason.

I have lost a lot of weight in recent months, and this means that I have had to buy a lot of new clothes and I can't afford to buy them all knew. One of the things that you should do is keep your eyes open for when there are sales on, as you might be able to pick up some new things for a fraction of the price that you might have paid otherwise. I also like to shop at places like charity shops because the clothes in there are often almost new as people will only have worn them a couple of times, but the prices are never very high because people like to get rid of the things that are on sale.

Congratulations on the weight loss. Mine goes up and down and when my clothes get tight, I know it's on its way up again. Right now, things are tight. I don't mind when my stretch jeans are tight as long as my tops are the right size and not form fitting. I love thrift and charity stores. If I had my own car, I'd probably go more often. I just sent my daughter a text to see if we can go hit some thrift stores in the morning. She just got her car back, so we'll see.

Nowadays I love going to thrift stores because they have a lot of nice clothes there at very affordable prices. I am a very practical person so for me price is important.

I love thrift stores, but sometimes it's hard to find larger ladies' sizes since we wear things a long time. It's great when I can find a lot of nice clothes because the owner had lost a lot of weight and donated them. But, they're even better for household goods. Love them!

I badly need new clothes too! I've been do busy lately that I have no time to go shopping for new clothes, and when info find time... There is no longer sales do I wouldn't buy the clothes. Usually...i have to wait till the year ends to buy clothes or when there is holidays because that's when there's is a lot of sales and better yet, warehouse sales. They sale super cheap clothes and they are still new... Well compared to the ones a thrift stores.

I've bought some things in the past year that were new because the store was having a really good clearance sale. I look for stretch denims wherever I go because I can easily mix and match them to several different tops. I also need to get some more shoes when I can.
