My friendship is not based on...

For a couple of days now i've been examining myself trying to check what i have been projecting on people. What kind of image or personality do they see in me? Yes, i love branded stuff, I love gadgets too. But i have reasons fro having them. They last longer, they are durable, and i have a need for them. It's more of the quality that i'm after. But some people think that i base my friendship on that and it's disappointing. They think they must have those expensive things to be friends with me. What they don't know is that they more they show off what they have to impress me, the more i get turned off. If you wanna be friends with me, just be you. Nothing attracts me more than sincerity and simplicity.

Hey dear.. great to see u again xx Friendship can be based on multiple things really.. but main one should be just what they love about you, not what you enjoy doing, hobbies, shopping etc.. things about you that are infectious and exciting to keep them wanting to get together with you over and over.. xx (Did try to post on your disappointment post. But it won't let me) :(

Hi toni I remember an advert - Diamonds made the lady. I fail to understand those lines for sure as I do believe that everyone is simple and honest within. However only a few realize and live by this. To me too, I love people who are simple, and honest. For those who misunderstood you and believe that you base your friendships on gadgets, showoff etc, they should study you more or at least try to see the real you which is simple and honest at the core

Dear Sid, I think you know me already by now and i'm just thankful that i still have you here on mylot. Did i ever asked you what kind of phone you have or how much money you have in the bank so that i could add you to my list of friends? Thank you for the friendship!

hi toni, i think there is nothing wrong with us who wants to have products that are of a higher value in the market. I'd say if you can afford it then why not buy it... it is not as if you are actually lending money from someone and then put yourself to debt in support of your wants in life for these material things. About people who judge you by what you own, i would say they are the ones who are probably like that - because the fact that they notice you and your materials, they are probably looking at it with scrutiny. i do not see that with my friends, i have officemates here for a year now and i do not even know what phone brands they have! i know they have cellphones but never checks out what brand and so on. i would say just do not mind these people and you are better off without them on your friends list. =) cheers!

The thing is they would flaunt what they have on me so they could get my attention. But the truth is they are not getting my attention with that. And you are right i am better off without those people.

hi there toniganzon.. You are right, i like branded stuff too.. especially clothes and shoes.. same reason, they're more comfortable and durable.. i had this Reebok rubber shoes, and still im using it until now and it was bought 7 years ago.. I love gadgets too well, I'm an IT student so there are really a lot of stuff I need... they think that if you have a lot of gadgets, you're trying to climb your social status.. well, i don't.. i need smart phones for reviewing, phones where can i browse the internet and etc.. but im not fan of apple products though, they're too restricted.. So all in all, i only have like one close friend.. she's like me, but we're not just for the show.. and much more, I don't really like having so many friends.. Have a nice day!

Thank you for sharing. I have apple products, blackberry and an android. I don't discriminate one from the other. I like each of them according to what they can give to me. I just enjoy that I get to experience all the sides of the world. They might be competing with each other, but i'm just a consumer that's curious of what they have to offer. I like having friends but i keep only sincere ones.

I see an attractive image in your new avatar. I hope it's enough to be your friend. On the other hand I've only a simple cell phone and no branded stuff, but I see you don't care about these things. Then I think we are fine. I hope so.

Hi friend, some persons are in this sort and trying to impress others with their personal looks, activities and status. We all need a friend with great heart and helping tendency. A friend is a person whoever come forward to help us whenever our needs without asking or expecting them. S/he must share our sorrows and enjoyments. This kind of modern gadgets never give importance or impact with others to make friendship, but a good and kind heart with full of affection have the ability to attract a lot of people
