We are headed to Baltimore, Maryland, for the 4th of July this year. There are a bunch of activities at the historic Fort McHenry during the day, and of course music and fireworks at the Inner Harbor at night. Although we have been to Baltimore many times, this is the first time we will be there for the 4th of July and I am very excited--sounds like a lot of fun! Where are you going? Or are you staying local and enjoying the festivities in your own town or backyard?

I didn't go anywhere special, and it was so hot I didn't really want to. I know my parents and my sister and brother-in-law all went to a place where my dad's family gathers every year for the fourth of July. My sister and BIL just stayed the day, but my parents spend a couple days there. I'm glad my dad got to be with his family.

I hope your parents had a nice time. I hope you had fun too--sometimes doing nothing is the best way to celebrate a holiday. It was VERY hot in Baltimore--one day it reached 107 degrees! Too hot to do much; luckily we found a few indoor places to visit. We still had fun, though. Have a great day!

I live in England. I know 4 July is American Independence Day. I celebrate it because it is my birthday. Today I have become 40 years old. It is shock to have left the 30s. I traveled by train to Bath, had a spa visit, looked in some posh shops and walked along the river. It was cool weather not at all like early July. I hope that you enjoyed it in Maryland on 4 July this year.

Probably not a day the British celebrate all that much!! LOL.
But a nice day for a birthday, nonetheless. Sounds like you had a very nice birthday. We are still celebrating here--just taking a break from the heat--over 100 degrees and humid! But Baltimore is a fun city, and we went to Fort McHenry National Park (site of a major victory against the British in the War of 1812). Lots of activities for kids and adults. Now we are off to the fireworks!
Have a happy birthday!

I wish I had a chance. I am going with my spouse to a winery and just going to soak in the day off and relax as this is going to be a crazy month ahead. The trip is roughly an hour away so we get to have the whole day in great weather with amazing food.
