I am posting this discussion in order to convey my regretless to all mylotters. Yesterday there was a guest for me, one of my friend’s family member. I was alone in my home, and I was asked to prepare a coffee for him. But unfortunately instead of sugar I put salt in it. But, before serving it to the guest I realized it and prepared a new one. Also there are many situations in my life where I was struggled due to my inability of cooking. Are you satisfies with your cooking? Have you ever experienced some thing like this? Please share your views and thoughts

I am so sorry but i could not help but laugh at this wonderboy, i mean that was not even cooking wonderboy! But my dad made the same mistake before as we were using this fine salt - iodized one and i didnt put a label in the jar and he mistaken it for sugar and drank it... i tell you he was not so happy at all. as for my cooking, i am quite satisfied with it most of the time but i love my hubby's cooking more, he is the best cook from the two of us.

I wonder your hubby studied cooking well. There are many books and articles available around us to study about the cooking of dishes and other items. Now I am just making of those books and articles and I hope I will do the best. Do you just make use of those cooking books or articles ? How does they play in your cooking ?

actually they were not well off when he was a kid, so studying cooking and proper training even cook books are not available.. lol i guess he was just able to master it thru tastes..and just gut feeling i believe. While i on the other hand can actually bake and well baking do need proper measurements so i do use cookbooks to follow it up, baking is a science.

I think putting salt instead of sugar is just a mistake. MAybe you need to put some labels on the condiments in your kitchen. Just like what I did in ours. I put labels on all the condiment for other person to be easily identify them. This happens when my father used to make coffee but instead of coffee, he got the cinnamon powder. hehehe Frst time cooks like you can really do mistakes, even I made mistakes in cooking. That's part of learning too. Just keep on trying on some dishes and eventually you will end up well.

A small amount of salt in coffee is not a bad thing. When I was first learning to cook, I made many mistakes. Some were totally inedible. But over the years I've become quite good at it. There's not many recipes that I won't try now.

I am not born a good cook (hehehe- who else does) Honestly of all household chores, cooking is not my forte. but the moment I got married, I don't have any choice but to learn how to cook. It was my husband who is a good cook and thanks, he teach me different menu and now I can say that I am a good cook- at least for my family and friends :)

My mother is a good cook. She cooks most of the foods in a good taste and I love having them. Now I am just behind her to study those cooking tricks. I hope I will achieve them soon.

hihi, you was in mood, i think..that's why you put salt in coffee...Or salt and sugar boxes look similar on a table. Honestly i have no problem with cooking because i know to cook when i was 6 years old..and now i live alone. If i don't cook, who cooks food for me everyday?

A good cook should be the one who should be satisfied with what he prepares. Are you satisfied which you make with your free hands ? From where did you learn them ?

A long time ago I was teaching my little boys to bake and we were making a pound cake. My youngest could not yet read very well and instead of measuring sugar he measured from the canister with salt in it! We could not figure out why the cake tasted so awful but eventually realized what had happened. We all had a good laugh out of it and they still remember that.

Oh,we all make mistakes wonderboy and through mistakes,we learn. I'm a frustrated cook myself that is because I really don't know how to taste a good one,all I know is the food tastes good when tied up with rice. So whenever I am about to taste the viand I am cooking,I don't know if it is salty or not,oh my! That's why I have to ask my family members first to taste the food I am cooking before I could say that what I cook is good. So if it is only me in the kitchen,I think I wouldn't be having a nice meal to serve my visitors, waaa! But mind you,I am good when it comes to desserts or sweets as I know how to taste and rate a good dessert, haha!

wb, i laughed a while after reading your topic, luckily you don't gave that coffee to your guest. Sad to know that you are bad in cooking. IT is a great art. I am interested in cooking and i can cook very well, in fact i can cook tasty foods compared with my wife, she is a great fan of my cooking and every week end i will prepare her favorite dishes for her.
