HI! Does anyone here have a Betta fish or know this fish? I do, and I'm reproducing them already. Betta fish have some problems in pet stores, in which they can be found in a small glass with water in which they can't even swim or move properly. Pet Shops Owners created the myth that Betta fish are happy in small aquariums and that wrong! They can live small places, thats a fact, but it's not healthy and living and place like that they die in two weeks or less. Its a shame! Betta fish are really resistant and can live something like three year, but you must give him good conditions. They aren't too demanding, an aquarium of 10Liters its enough and can make your Betta fish happy and healthy.

I had a blue Betta fish many years ago. I had to give it away because I was moving from one place to another too often. I'd add to your description that Betta fish don't need an additional source of oxygen, like other fish need. They can take the oxygen they need from the surface of the water. And the most funny thing about the male Betta fish: if you put a mirror next to the aquarium, they will think the reflection is an opponent and they will start to change their color in order to impress the opponent. Just try this with your Betta fish and tell us what you see.

What color are your Betta fish? Mine was blue but I had a colleague at the university and he had also red and violet Betta fish. He taught me the trick with the mirror. He used to keep them in different tanks and instead of using the mirror, he used to put them face to face, separated by the glass of their tanks.

Hehehe I do it too, to show the female betta to the male without he hurts her. I have a red Betta and a Camboja Betta (White body, Red tails). I have also 6 female bettas (1x blue,2x dark pink, 3x Camboja). The good of Betta fish is that you can have it anywhere, even in university without need a large tank to keep it. Did you ever tried to breed them?
