When people are calling us names and try to offend us we react in a certain way, and each person think of it differently.
How do you react\respond to insults?

For me the best way to react is to ignore the person. It's more hurting on their part if they felt that nobody cares at all of what they say. We can't please everybody no matter how good we want to be so if somebody offend us just let them see that it doesn't matter and i'm sure they will be more hurt of this.

I usually am a very calm person and I don't care much about insults. I usually smile and say something very ironically, or just say nothing. On the other hand, when I am in a bad mood, I tend to get nervous when insulted. But this doesn't happen very often.

I normally do not take these very seriously.. at least if the insult is not directly said to my face and caused me to be humiliated in front of many people. If this is the case I would fight back and will most definitely get around the situation. I usually is fast in thinking of words i say to people.. we call it hirit here in the Philippines, much like a punch line that gets you back on track and caught the person on the other side off guard.

I used to get emotional about things like that but now I am killing people with kindness. It is the best way to react. The nicer you are the more it annoys the person.
Or I just ignore the person completely. Either way works for me...

I don't like to receive any insults so whenever I feel I was insulted I just keep the words within me, 'cause I don't want to make big the issues which are just small. Sometimes, we just need to ignore it. It happens when the person do not know you well and how can we escape people who like to insult others? we cannot because they are every where. What is left for us is to prove them wrong not by words but by our acts. That is the best way to handle insults in my own perspective.

It's just like a jokes to me, or sometimes ignoring them, doesn't matter if it is insults or what. I trained myself to be calm and relaxed all the time to hold my coolness than being a hot headed person where nothing will be achieved. Ignoring those who said the insults are the best part where you act that you didn't hear anything and making them a forever alone guy.

before, i can not take insults. i cried or even shout back and give them my middle finger. But now, I can deal with it. I would joke around them with the insult and throw him back an insult about himself. We will see what he's feeling after what he did to me.

Sometimes the insult don't register immediately to me. Maybe because I try to analyze if it is really an insult or just a statement. By the time I realize it, I get angry but I always try to remain calm and not to cry. Then it's either I stay quiet or throw back their insults on them in a calm manner.
