Howling dogs bring bad luck in the family?

Yesterday, my mother-in-law who sometimes likes dogs (sometimes not) came to me and said that a howling dogs bring bad luck in the house. I strongly negated because you can never see or hear dogs who won't howl. Am i right? What I observed about dogs are whenever they heard far away dog's long howl they would also answered it as a sort of their communication.
Some conservative people or shall we say old folks expressed their fears whenever they heard a long howling of dogs for the reason that the dog who is howling sees a ghost or something "not like ours".
Is this true my friend? I would not believe this...how about you?

My people doesn't like howling dogs either. They don't say a howling dog brings bad luck but they say a howling dog portend something bad. This may be true in some cases, considering that a dog that howls must be somehow in distress. He may feel lonely or there is something else that bothers him. Or he only shows his sympathy for another dog that howls at a distance.

It is just a superstition, howling dogs does not mean anything except they are doing what comes natural to them.

In most cases, when a dog howls somebody would die. That has been proven time and again. No once can really explain what is the mystery behind this. Could they see or forsee something beyond what human eye could see? Nobody could really tell.

Not my dog my friend because she never howls alone at the middle of time. He would just howl if he would hear another dog howling too. That's their form of communication and has nothing to do with bringing bad lucks on any household.

I think that superstition was really wolves and not dogs. They say that when there is a full moon and you hear a wolf howling, that is a signal or a sign of bad things to come.
Dogs howl for many reasons and seeing ghosts is not one of them. Sometimes dogs howl because they hear pipes creaking or noises made by your neighbors. Dogs use their sense of smell or hearing more than their sense of sight.

Whatever your ideas and understanding on dog's howling is maybe right but brings bad luck is a thinking of stupid individual who believes on that idea.

Maybe those people who said so did understand 'dog' language. As 'luck' itself is something that is not exactly tangible, whether dog howling means anything is anyone's guess. Same goes as 'ghost' or something that is 'not like ours'.

hi,
i have two dogs before maybe that was last two years,when the evening come and they will alone they sometimes howl and as you said some of neighbor told that its a bad luck or they can see ghost,but i dont believe in bad luck but in seeing ghost i do believe on that.though i can not see ghost because i dont have third eye.

Hi friend, it is one of the superstitious quote without any proof, don't believe this kind of quotes. I never give importance to this quote and don't care about the howling dog. Dog's don't have the ability to guess about our good or bad luck
