Is it hard to give?

I was depositing my bag in our library's depository together with my girlfriend. She deposited her bag first and I notice something peculiar. She did not thanked the custodian for handling her bag. I know it is pretty normal for a person not the thank the custodian for in the first place, they are paid to do that. However, it was very unusual for me for I really do give some little appreciation and thanked most people who had helped me in a lot of ways. After that incident, a thought struck me in the head. Is it really that hard to thank a person for doing some little things for you? We tend to take many things for granted that we fail to appreciate people around us. We have the tendency to forget the small things that contributes to our daily life. So give a little thanks. :)

No, it is not hard to give, I also say thank you to those little things others do for me, anyway. That incident occurred, maybe, just maybe,it is an habitual action, sometimes we neglect little things, and If we are to say thank you every time someone do good or anything for us. We would not be able to finish thanking others, for man is an Island, and we need each other to survive. well, that is what I thought. Goodnight!

I totally agree with you mate. However, there are still people who have so high pride that they cannot really says those words of thanks even for people who are always ready to help them.

Yes, it is really not hard to give a simple thanks to the person who does you good. But perhaps, in that certain event you shared here, have you ever noticed your girlfriend showing facial expressions or gestures of gratitude instead of saying the word normally? Well, saying thank you does not just matter on the words you say, or let us say verbally. We can always say thanks in a nonverbal way. Just saying :)

I do not find it hard to thank someone for doing something, and I am not a verbal person. It shows that you are civilized and that you do not regard yourself as superior to another person. Very simple to do and takes no effort.

Its not hard to say thank you, depending on who you are thanking of course. It is also surprising how far a thank you can go, and ignorance can go even further. I always remember those that were ignorant to me at times in the past.
