If Numb3rs were still continuing

If Numb3rs was still be shown with first run shows and not only in reruns, how would they handle the recent Higgs Boson(the God particle) news. The professor, mentor and colleague of the main character Charlie Epps was Larry Fleinhardt who was a physicist whose holy grail was the search for the Higgs Boson. At some point in the show Amita Ramanujan, Charlie's girlfriend, joined Larry in the effort. So if still running would they just ignore the news, would they have an episode that included Larry in effect getting scooped on the matter or would they have presented it so that Larry was a collaborator on it and perhaps even managed to get the real world scientists to participate in the show if by name only. I would have wanted them to at least acknowledge the news and to have it have some effect on the somewhat eccentric Larry.
