Every month we usually go to our hometown, stayed there for 1 day sometimes 2 days. And after that back home to the city. When my mom, says let's go to the hometown at first I get excited but later when we r on travel time I feel tired because of the distance we need to travel. It takes 3 to 4 hours before we reach to our destination. And I planning to say NO, the next my mom will ask me to go with her! but I can't. I need to accompany with her.Hope, next time I will have some valid scapegoat haha!

Hello power and welcome to myLot. I wish I could travel with my mom to my home town. Just thinking about it make me home sick. My home town is about a thousand miles away and so is my mother in another direction. How do you travel to your home town. When I have traveled by bus I liked getting acquainted with my seat buddy, looking out the window to catch new sites along the way. When I and my daughter would travel to see my son in the military we would stop frequently to check on flowers and identify them. I always took a book with the pictures and a camera to take lots of pictures along the way. It would be a three hour or four drive but with the book and camera it could take us as long as eight to ten hours. You could get your mom to tell you about her family growing up Maybe write those things down because some day you will want to have those stories for your children You should spend as much time with your mom as you can because some day you won't have her to take to your home town.

You seem to get bored on the 3 to 4 hour journey to and from your homeland. Maybe you could listen to music, look out of the window or chat to your mom. You need to accompany your mom and you would have to have a busy diary of events to say no thanks to the trip.

Travelling 3-4 hours is not that long for being with your mom and your hometown. Considering that you stay there for 2 days, that travel time is more than acceptable. Just occupy yourself with something if you are not driving.

I don't mind going to my mom's hometown every now and then, but I guess every month is to much for me. :D We usually visit my parent's hometown 3 times a year, april, october, and december. I still get excited to go there even if it takes 3 hours of travel. There are hot springs there and I enjoy meeting my relatives as well.
