Have you ever thought of buying & selling stuff like bags & scarves online?

Have you ever pondered on running your own simple business, like buying good quality bags and scarves wholesale from reputable suppliers and re-selling them? If you had the capital, is this the sort of business you think you can sustain? Not everyone has the entrepreneurial skill and perseverance to succeed in business. Well, the thought just hit me since I often bid and buy stuff like bags and shoes online and I've been wondering just how lucrative it may be. Anyone here who may be thinking along the same lines?

Yeah i have heard people taking help of online means to sell off their old garments and used items. In fact it is a promising business wherein you can get the items of your choice. i have never tried my hand at this but would love to do it some day.

In my experience, there are old items that are photographed and look like they're not that worn out, and they're offered at low prices. The trick is to check the category of the retailer (whether they're power sellers and have lots of positive testimonials) and to ask questions/touch base or even request for close-up shots of the product being sold from the seller before buying anything.

i have think it before, to sell some branded bag. but to sell branded bag, you cannot just simply take the stock. you have to know which style is hot sale and which time. if you take too much stock, you can't afford it if you can't get customer to buy, and time after time, the stock that you had will over time. so, if you really want to sell something online, it is better if there is outlet in your country, once there is people order the stock, then you can easily get it from the outlet. i think this is much more better and you do not need to worry about the capital =)

That makes sense. Determining which bags are hot sellers before obtaining stock is a practical move. If we do sell merchandise like bags, we must post photos of the items and describe them well so that buyers don't end up feeling duped.

Fashion trends keeps changing quickly. And the bags you want to sell might take some time to reach your doorstep and even more time before someone actually buys it.

I have tried to sell a lot of my mom's knitted scarves, kids hats and mittens and doilies on ebay and a few go fast but others don't. It is hard to sell stuff. A Few years ago I was selling stuff fast on ebay. Now it seems everyone is on there and not many people are buying stuff at this time

There are times, indeed, when people are always checking out stuff and actually buying them online, but other moments, sales seem slow. I guess it all depends on the economic times and people's disposable income.

Choosing legitimate sellers & buying stuff online can be fun, especially if you get really good, durable stuff. Selling items is a totally different game.

Yes I have pondered and even dabbled in it but why buy and resell that is crazy :p best thing to do in my opinion is drop shipping unless you can sell the said items for 110% profit. That way you don't have to worry about upfront fees, stock or even posting the thing just sell the item you selling then pay the drop shipper and they post it for you. Of course the only problem with that is finding a reputable one and a cheap one as well. But in all seriousness If you find a good niche to sell in you can make a lot of real money whether you drop ship or buy and resell. I find dhgate.com pretty good for wholesale for non-branded items When PayPal closed my account down to dodgy buyers saying they had not received the items (never send items without recorded deliveries ever)I was turning $50 to $250 a week very easily via eBay.

Indeed, not all customers are truthful. Successful online sellers do inspire others to consider venturing into a similar business.

The other night I was discussing the same thing to my cousin who has lived with us since she was a baby. She was always the one who had more of this "fashion sense" compared to plain boring not so stylish me. I noticed that she's so into looking and buying clothes via Facebook pages of her friends who sell their unused clothes. I thought it was also good for her since she goes out a lot and why not use her going out a lot in a profitable sense by meeting online buyers and selling to them. That way she can earn money as well instead of just wasting her time hanging out most of the time with friends.

Online shopping is not suited for everybody. Yet at some point, if you have a functional item other people may want, it's worth considering. Nonetheless, there are lots of other part-time jobs that can be steady money-earners as well, like writing blogs and short feature articles for online use, and mylotting.

Hi friend, your idea is good, you can re sell items in online via good sites, but you must work hard to get the clients. I am doing affiliate work, but it is really hard to make sales. All the best

I've heard a lot about affiliate work, and I think It's really one business that you can sustain with perseverance and hard work. There are so many items or categories to choose from before you go & get involved with one. Wish you luck.

You have to work out a few things before you start 1) Do you have the capital to start the business? Buying goods in wholesale isnt exactly cheap and sometimes you have to pay for shipping too if your suppliers are overseas. Not including warehousing and delivery costs (to your customer) 2) Do you have patience? Your online store needs a lot of time to build up the reputation and publicity 3) Do you have the time? To maintain an online shop needs a lot of time dedicated to it. You have to monitor emails, reply queries, maintain stock level customer service and stuff like that. 4) What would make people want to buy on your store. Remember there are already a few well established stores that create an incredible online shopping experience for people. They have massive amounts of variety and some do international free shipping too. You have to make your store unique to stand out among the rest
