deleted discussions

not sure if this discussion will last long but today I have found that many discussion I have taken the time to respond to are being deleted. They are not deleted till I have taken the time to type my response and then when I have submitted the response I receive a notice that this discussion has been deleted due to guidelines. This is very frustrating to take the time and form an in depth response to only have it be taken off myLot. If 2 people start a discussion and they are similar in nature I do feel they should be allowed. I know I not alone in this frustration but will just have to deal with this. Maybe I will have to wait until the discussion is on mylot for months to be sure it is not going to be deleted or maybe I am just being silly. What is your thoughts and any ideas how to improve this area?

I only have one thought on how to improve this area. Be aware of the Guidelines: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx If you know them then you will know how to recognise most of the discussionss which are violations and will be deleted later. Then you can avoid particpating on them

I do try to avoid guidelines violations and try not to respond to a discussion I know is duplicated. When a discussion appears as to be new and appropriate I respond and then find out it being deleted. Hard to know if all discussions are duplicates and I just trudge though with the good and the bad.

steelers12 yes my thought is you did not read the guidelines where it t ells us explicitly what you can and cannot put in a discussion.'had you read the guidelines and the FAQs you would know the rules and you could then not respond to any that look like they broke a rule.so many come here and refuse to read or learn the dos and do nots of making discussions then bellyache that discussions they responded to are deleted.duh how can you mylot correctly if you have not read the rules?the lot does not need improving but the newcomers who refuse to read the rules so they know what they are doing need to be reminded that you should read instructions before making something like a discussion.you use recipes to bake a cake do you not?

Hatley aunty: how are you? not to be seen for the last two or three days in discussions pertaining to mylot glitch. perhaps I did not notice properly. I am in Canada since last Thrusday. will be here for two months. yes. you are right we must be clear about guidelines and post responses and if a discussion is deleted due to repetition or violation then we should learn from that.

Hatley I did not mean to upset you with this discussion. I have read the guidelines but my only concern was that if I do not know it is a repetitive discussion how am I to know it is in violation of guidelines? I do try to scour the discussions to see if they are similar in nature, but some do without knowing it. I steer away from those that are the same in the listing of discussion, my only concern is not being able to know every discussion on here and was just a thought. I realize that not every person will agree with my thoughts but honestly I was bellyaching just thinking out loud so to speak. Your response back to me though your own opinion did come across as being crass and rude. I am not a newcomer here just had to delete an old account and am now starting over. I will and always have tried my best to adhere to the rules and guidelines of myLot. I enjoy the insightful and sometimes stimulating discussions on here that makes a person think and enjoy the experiences and opinions of others.

steelers welcome to mylot. For me also a few discussions in which I posted responses were deleted-- say three or four. that is part of this exercise. We do with the hope that the discussion will not get deleted -- yes some of them are repetitive in nature for example difficulty in posting in mylot--glitches etc. If a response/discussion is deleted we get less income--one suggestion is -- we should not spend too much time on any one topic of discussion but post more responses in varied discussions. good day
