Unbelievable...hahaha
This reminds me when I was in College, used to ride a freaking colorum vehicle. nothing new about that but unfortunately, I was annoyed with the Driver's immature act to text while driving. What an idiot. I am glad though other passenger's kept reprimanding him when they did.
They were similar incidents, all except this one because the person was driving a public BUS. not to mention it was raining hard. the Bus kept zigzag approach and drove fast that it could have flown from the bridge if it wasn't for the train's bridge railway..the driver was even stupid enough to lie when all the passengers saw him texting before the accident.
They should FIRE and jail him, that's what...

A couple states have outlawed texting while driving. It is one of those obvious things we just shouldn't do, that somehow requires laws to get people to do what is right.

Hello Ladybugmagic, too bad in my country, some people are still doing it and it's unbelievable that they still do. they should be banned from using mobile Phones when driving and should be caught and suspend their license to drive. this driver is definitely fired from work because of total negligence and lied to escape accountability

Yeah, I am in a state that outlaws it... not that it does any good. I see it all the time and think.. where's the cops when you need one! I have seen people literally walk across a street and not even look up from texting to see if a car is coming. THey do this in parking lots thinking, I assume that they are the pedestrian so the cars will automatically stop for them. When will they stop? When they get hit, hurt or killed I guess.
And thing is.. it it is so easy to fix... get ear plugs or blue tooth, then you can talk and watch at the same time. Although, you are distracted from what you are doing and not paying full attention to the road or where you are going, but still... it is a step in the right direction!

I have watched the news regarding the "Don Mariano Bus Liner". Somehow the passengers were lucky enough when the accident happened at the spot where there is the railway bridge of MRT. If it have happened somewhere without it, could have been more tragic. there were 8 injured and I believe there were not fatality.
People say this will keep happening since there is not concrete law that punishes the drivers who were caught texting while driving. Philippine law is still at the course of evolution. History will repeat itself until the legislators are caught up surprised with it and acts on it when it is happening very frequently.

Hello Danzylop,
the last time i rode in that Don mariano Bus was way back years ago. there wasn't even an appeal on that bus some conductors don't even have tickets to give you once you pay them. well, what's with the law if the people don't follow. probably people in the legislation should have higher penalties to the drivers with no exception on who it is. Have a nice day.

I really hope drivers know and do their responsibilities well. They must really consider their job seriously because they are in-charge of not only their own life, but as well as their passengers and other people sharing the road they drive on. There are accidents caused by other things and there are accidents caused by driver's carelessness, and I do not want to say this but I think that if an accident is caused by w recklessness then I would have to say it's no accident at all.

Hello Choybel,
I thought they were having seminars such as these but it seems that some people are not remembering what they were taught there. probably this driver may not have been in those seminars, i feel bad for the passengers, probably afraid of going to the BUS again. they should be careful in hiring bus drivers. Have a nice day.

Driver nowadays should to be retrain. Their trainings are all obsolete already, maybe the new technologies where not added to their course during their times.
Such kind of irresponsible act of a driver should be penalized and that they should face the full consequences of their actions.
So lucky that no one was greatly injured with his misconduct....

Hi Letran Knight: This is completely irresponsible. I think they deserve a big fine because people like this could kill other persons for their stupid behaviour. How people couldn't realize about the consequences of their actions? The police should not tolerate this act of negligence from a driver.

hi,
i am scared to ride in that kind of vehicle especially when the driver is really reckless,i also experienced that a driver was texting while driving in the road, and that as really annoyed and of course i feel some nervous because wrong move we could get bump to other vehicle.sometimes passenger will tell to the driver to stop texting while on driving because its prone to accident.

The police fine you big here if they catch you on your phone or texting as you drive which they should! We have had a lot of accidents in the area because of people texting or talking on the phone. It is sad because it could have been totally preventable. It is sad innocent people die in accidents cause someone had to text a friend. But unfortunately even with the fines I still see people on the phones all the time when driving. All they do is put the phone down if they see a cop

This is one of the saddest things that technology has given the people - lesser self-control. I mean, what's so important that couldn't wait till you reach your destination or till you get into a bus stop or a stop traffic light, right?
I too have friends who can't seem to care about these things. There were several times when a friend would call me up to ask me something or simply to share a story, then when I ask where they are, they'd say that they were driving. I would immediately tell them to put down the phone or drop the call then call me when they're home. They always tell me it's okay because they're on speaker or blue tooth or whatever but still I am making them not pay attention to the road and I'd be guilty if something did happen to them.
I just don't get it. I just hope that people wouldn't learn the lesson the hard way. Most especially those driving a public transport vehicle. A lot of people's lives are on the edge with that.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

i dont like it too when they do that. whenever i ride a cab and the driver would slow because they have to answer their phone but texting, i mean common we're in the middle of the road and the reason why im riding a cab is im in a hurry.. its more irritating when you get a red light because hes not driving fast enough while its green.
