I Think The Brits Have Finally Lost Their Sense Of Humour!

What a shame! Us Brits have always taken the piss out of ourselves for as long as I can remember. A case in point are those extremely annoying GoCompare adverts. I don't think people from outside the UK will know what I'm talking about but let's just say, the guy who sings in every single one is bloody irritating and should be shot (in a nice way) lol. Hence their last brilliant ad - which is a piss-take - obviously. Now, when I first saw this I wasn't offended in any way. If I'd seen it before the 9pm watershed (as it was screened originally) I still wouldn't be offended. If I'd had small kids sitting with me at the time I STILL wouldn't be offended but some idiotic parents ARE! Only 43 of them up to now but enough to be brought to the media's attention. There are two reasons why they are offended. The first is the fact the ad was originally shown well before 9pm therefore kids are generally still up at that time. Apparently, it trivialises the War on Terror and is an insult to our soldiers. Also, it is glamourising terrorism as a massive (clearly fake) bazooka is used to blow the tenor away. Oh, really? I am bloody angry and disappointed that ANYONE should be offended by what is (to anyone with a brain and a sense of humour) a FUNNY advert! Why can't they get a life? Why can't they see that the irritating tenor actually SURVIVES the "attack?" Honestly! No doubt the kids of the 43 complaining parents are traumatised after seeing the advert and need counseling as a result..so they will take solace in their games consoles and play the most mindless, violent games ever created. I'm sorry but those do-gooder parents are HYPOCRITES! Here is the video so you can judge for yourself.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NP1mHa6s4a8 If you are wondering who the lady firing the bazooka is, it's Sue Barker, ex-tennis player and presenter on Wimbledon. This makes the timing of the ad even better in my opinion as it's shown on ITV when the BBC has the tennis on!

Dammit! The one time that I do not copy my post before posting it and I lose it! Oh well, I will try and recreate it but it is always hard to recreate the emotion of the first post. (Here goes) What a pack of whiners. I see nothing too offensive with that. What happened to the English sense of humour that was found in these TV shows? http://www.squidoo.com/english-comedy-tv The Brits are famous and well loved for their politically incorrect TV, please do not try and go all nice and boring on us now. That is what American TV is for.

Haha! Controversial but oh, so true my friend. I mean, they like our Russell Brand for God's sake, the most unfunniest man on the planet. They are welcome to him!

I have never seen Russell Brand in anything but photos. My wife read his booky wook though and liked it....at least I think she did!
