My missionary friends...

I may not be LDS, (Mormon) but I do have many Mormon friends. But of them, I really like the missionaries. I mean, look. They go all day trying to preach the gospel, trying to keep from getting faces slapped, bikes stolen, back pack ripped off, and doors slammed in their faces. You have to give them some credit. They are told to go do something, and they do it. I am happy to know them. I am happy to call them friends. They are the real example of faith in action, and further more, I go out of my way to help them. These guys are 19 and thrust out in the world, with virtually nothing to their name. Unless their parents are rich. And they are told to just do their duty. I so much want to do what they do. I know that their work is hard, so my hats are off to the missionaries of the world. Regardless of what religion you are. Bless you all, and never shout rude remarks at missionaries. They may be in your neighborhood and trying to help. Help them and you too will be blessed. Do you help the missionaries feel at home, or do you run them off?

i would never bash anyone for their religious beliefs. i wouldn't want anyone to bash me for mine. however, i would not be rude to them. i would have to decline on what ever they are offering. my faith is nichiren daishonin true buddhism. i am always happy to be educated on the other religions out there, though.

Hello, MoonGypsy. I did the same thing when I was incarcerated. Just took the time to learn as much as I could about all things, and religions, before I set my sights on YAHVAHS Truth Restored Ministries. Biblical based ministry dedicated to the creator of the universe. I have been a little upset with them at times, but never rude... Thank you fro your comment...

I was born and raised Christian, but gave it up at a young age.I have no missionary friends although I do have some missionary relatives. Missionaries seldom come to my house, and when they do I am friendly but not easily persuaded. I am enjoying life and prefer to let the missionaries enjoy theirs.

I have no problem with them at all!! But when they are knocking at my door at 8am on a saturday I admit I get frustrated. It is my one day to sleep in and they keep on knocking. I never answer the door because years ago 2 of them came in the house after I opened the door and I couldn't get rid of them even after I asked them to leave. I understand they are spreading the word of god but does it have to be done so early in the morning on a saturday??

I had a similar experience. It was a day off, and I wanted to sleep in. I had worked VERY hard all week, and needed the rest. I wanted to go to bed at 11 p.m., and sleep until at least 10 a.m. Because of things that happened,I didnt get to bed until 12:30 or so. At 9 a.m. there was a knock on the door. It was the JW's. I was so upset I just ignored them. I could not get back to sleep.

Hi CODYMAC, I completely agree with you. I know the Mormon church quite will, although I haven't been in one for more than forty years. One of my sisters joined that church many years ago and although she has passed on, I have nieces and nephews who are still loyal members. I remember those missionaries and how they go on their mission at such a young age. We should show respect and not be rude to these young people. We may not believe as they do, but that's no reason not to admire them for their faith. Blessings.
