We were visiting my brother and his family the other day and my sister-in-law made this great pasta dish or at least I thought it was pasta. Come to find out, she had this neat little gadget that made noodles from zuchinni and carrots. She then sauteed them in garlic and olive oil. These noodles were the length and texture of real pasta. I came right home and started doing a bit of research. The tool is about $15 on amazon and I have mine on the way. We have both vegetables planted in the garden and I can't wait to give this a try. What are your favorite kitchen gadgets? Have you ever made these noodles?

I love working in the kitchen. I also want to do my own pasta. What I just need is a pasta maker machine. Making my own pasta will make me sure about what I did. Also, I can incorporate some veggies on the noodles itself. Can I ask what is that machine so that I can search it also in the web and hopefully bought it for me? Thanks in advance.

If you go to amazon.com and type in vegetable noodle maker, you will find this little gadget! Good luck!

That sounds pretty cool. Does it use only vegetables or do you have to add some flour like when you make gnocchi?

No, there is no need to add any flour. It is simply the vegetables and you can cook them any way that you think would be good. I am not sure I would boil them, but who knows? It might be a good idea.

Did she use a spiral slicer or is there another machine out there that does the same thing?

I think that I can imagine the gadget to which you refer. Does it turn the vegetables into long strands that you can then boil up and treat as you might pasta or noodles? My favourite gadget is the kettle! Imagine the pain of having to boil water in a pan on the stove or over an open fire!!
