I just noticed how people use social networking sites to bad mouth another person or to attack their enemies. It's become a vicious cycle. Thought the very aim of these sites is to link friends to each other, build stronger friendships...and make new friends. Turns out, a great number carelessly misuse these sites. They start abusing freedom of expression. Gone are the days when people are gentle and gracious in giving kind words. Now, all the cusses that one can throw are simply posted in one click. Let's promote peace, people!

I agree with you. There is no reason to talk to people that way. People should treat others with respect if that is how they want to be treated in return. There is no reason to be disrespectful. Everyone can have their own opinions without being rude...

Very well said. We only need to be careful in choosing our words. :)

Oh yes... We are always sometimes prone to such right? It may be brought upon by emotions... Often when one cannot control their anger they just want to get back at people who hurt them. I think it is really not fair though for one to do this in public sites for everyone to see. Well i think people who are doing this is non confrontational in person and is just hiding from the back of the social networking site and appears really brave to openly declare fights and so on inteir accounts.

Doesn't make sense, though, that they bark at the wrong tree. Nothing gets fixed. If they rather resolve to proper communication, they can even maintain friendship. Being "non-confrontational", for me, is nothing but a lame excuse. If they can exhaust their energy revealing their barbaric nature (through words) willingly and publicly, well...isn't it more than confronting? ONLY not directly to anyone's face. That, in fact, is their way of dealing with who they're angry at...and that itself is confronting. Because sites such as FB is like a tool to communicate. And how the communication has really evolved. oh well. :( ....and yeah, you're right in saying that we all have the propensity to such response when embittered. Only, though, when we allow our emotions rule over us, which we must always be careful about.

That is the reason I hate Facebook!! A month ago my niece posted a pic of herself she is 10. A friend of hers posted "Fat Pig" as a comment. I called my sister in law and told her what the post said and she logged into her daughters account and deleted it. I mean seriously come on! Have some respect. It is sad people abuse it

I had this experience when I joined my previous forum, they badmouth another person and attacking the other especially those who has different opinions. I think the reason why they use social networking sites to attack other person is because they think they can do everything behind their screen, they think they can hide behind their computer . I think these kind of people actually nothing in real life, that is why they use their identity behind screen to attack other. Im pretty happy with mylot, even if we have different opinion but none allowed to attack each other especially in rude manners.

...thinking they can always run away from their rude deeds. :( I feel for those recipient of nasty remarks. I mean, there are some people we really don't like. Those we find ridiculous or obnoxious. But, it is not a reason for us to curse them in any way. And, we, too...we have unlikeable traits which others find sooo unbearable. We don't want them to trash talk us may it be as it is. In fact, we wish to be tolerated when we did something silly. :( Let not perverse talk come out of our mouth. We should only build.

yes, i totally agree with you sharksfin, it is unfortunate that people use their time and energy for evil rather than good...i can only imagine how much better our world would be if negative people and their hater negativity was suddenly flipped to the opposite way! ....but unfortunately, that is just how some people and the world are...like a balance....i appreciate your gentle gracious and kind manner sharksfin....blessings and peace to you!

Thanks, Psychoartist. It's always a red alert when I see one curse after another posted on FB. What's happening to our values? Where did our education go? We're originally the only Christian nation in Asia, yet look at how we treat each other? Reminds me of the 2nd greatest commandment... Bless your heart!
