I was having diarrhea, cramping now rectal bleeding. I have colitis so no I'm not dying its normal. But its painful to go to the bathroom, I don't know if its hemaroids or something else. It was on and off so I assumed it was the heat. But the bleeding is increased, now I have my pills at home but I took them just 2 (one in the morning, 1 at night usual does the trip), my stomach just killed - was in so much pain and all the way through until I stopped taking them. So I think its time to go back to the doctors and see him as I haven't seen him in 3 years or so.

It is long past due for you to see your doctor! This much pain, bleeding and diarrhea can be the sign of something really serious, especially if the pills haven't controlled the problem. You need to make the appointment immediately and if you can't get in soon it's time to go to the ER! These signs can also be signs of cancer, ulcers, torn intestines and more!! This is something that you can't just brush off with "I think it's time to go back to the doctor"!!! Especially since you haven't seen him in 3 years or so!!! Call his office ASAP and get in to see him, and don't play down the symptoms.

Not even a WELLNESS visit in 3 years? Gosh, Ricki, you are really putting your health at risk here. No one should need to tell you to see about your own health care. Yours is free right? I could see if you couldn't afford copays or if you had no insurance, but it seems out of the norm for someone to just not go. You have a serious disorder and you need to be followed medically.

I have to agree with you that it is definitely time to make a visit to the doctor. One of the things that I know is the truth when you are dealing with a chronic condition is that you do need to stay in contact with your doctor because things can change with your condition without your really being aware of it. I hope that when you do have your appointment with your doctor you find out that it is nothing but the need for an adjustment in your medications.

I agree, you need to see your doctor again. Anything unusual is not normal, I believe. If you're not comfortable with the meds your taking, better discuss this to your doctor, he might recommend a better one for you.

sounds like you need to go see him. is he a specialist? if so, it might take some time to get in. maybe you should go see your family doctor in the meantime. hopefully he is not on holidays like mine is. grrrr. i have had a low grade fever, swollen gland for 2 and half months now and have been on 2 courses of antibiotics and am still sick. i am going to see an ear, nose and throat specialist but not til August 8th :-(

Hi Ricki, I would say a trip to the doctor is definitely in order here. Since you are bleeding so much and in so much pain, you should see about it. Your doctor can’t know something is wrong if you don’t communicate with him or see him in 3 years… Gosh! With a history like yours, I would be seeing the doc every 6 months, even if it was just for lab work to be done. With such an irritated bowel I would be very afraid of cancer setting up. You really need to see your doctor on a regular basis. As far as the medicine, maybe you need something else, since that must be causing you so much pain.
