It is mentioned Philipines is also doing very well in this regard. Read the report and give your comments. good day.

Hi,
Nice to see that you started this discussion. I am a freelancer myself and I had landed up winning a project on Freelancer and ever since then I have been working with that employer even after the project for which I was originally selected got over. We have built up a solid working relationship. I am very happy to read that India is the top country on the list of Freelancer.com. It gives me great satisfaction to hear good things about my country's achievements. I agree that many people are turning to freelancing work these days. Those who can write well need not look back due to the presence of such sites. I have not tried my luck at odesk yet but might try soon. I do article rewriting work basically and this is something I enjoy doing. However, I would like to mention that I get paid very low for the work I do. For instance, I get 80 cents for rewriting a 500 word article. However, I will stick to this work for the time being till I find an offline job which will only be possible after my teachers' training course is over next year.

ravi, Thanks for the compliment on my writing. It made me happy.
My employer told me that people from Philippines are very good writers too. I have some online friends from there whose writing I really admire. I also work on article writing sites in my spare time. I think freelancing is for those who are passionate about writing. I wish I could get a greater rate per article that I rewrite but there are so many scams that I am having to stick to my trusted employer, knowing that at least he will pay me. Moreover, Paypal converts the dollars to rupees at a lower rate than the current market rate. There too we lose out. For instance, the current conversion rate is 1 USD = Rs. 55.4050 whereas the PayPal exchange rate is
1 USD = Rs. 53.5080 Just imagine their profits.

Oindy:
yes. yesterday I received unexpectedly $30 from ammas.com. Paypao took 1.5$ as their commission. Also when I wanted $28.53 to be transferred to my bank account they offered only Rs.52.52 for conversion. They make a lot of money in these small transactions also.
Keep concentrating on areas where you find you are stronger and be attempting new areas also. diversification is helpful at times.

You have written nicely. it shows you are very good in writing. yes. earnings are less --for 500 words we get $0.80 and it may work out to Rs. 45 or so. In DTP world they charge roughly rs.20 for simply typing ready content.
happy to know you are getting continuous work. keep working. keep getting other employers also so that you will have work at all times.

The problem is, most of the jobs need a skill that I don't have it.
What can be expected from a Senior High School graduated?
Contents writing, less paid lot of work. Better to take a task on Mylot with "leave a comment on my site".
Less paid yes, but also less job to do. The most important is, I get backlink to my site or blog and get paid even just $0.02 to $0.03.

thanks for the response. you were an inactive member in both the sites. It may be because you are already employed or are having no time to spare. However the expectations of those employers is high and rates offered are less. have a nice day.

Thank you Ravi for the information.. Actually I'm a member of Odesk but not really active... because of some requirements that not approve. I know that some filipino's are working via odesk and they said the good money they get.. it is not possible that Indian are dominated the two online working place because Indian are talented and hardworking.

I just read the article through your link. It is very well written and if the data is correct then I am sure it will enhance the Indian traffic to the two sites they have mentioned. I am a member of the Odesk.com and I don't remember the last time I opened my profile.
I opened it after reading this discussion. It was good to read your discussion. Thanks for sharing.

That's good to know that India nad my country is faring well in that sites.
I can see it coming ravisivan. We are good in outsourcing and it really pays to be one of those who offer such service.
Let's give freelancing a try regardless of what our age is. 1 person likes this

that is good. age need not deter one from accepting freelancing jobs. It depends on our ability to complete the work on time.

I honestly think that freelancing could become an industry that is much bigger than outsourcing overall. The reason that I believe that this is going to be the case is because of the fact that when hiring people to do freelance work, there is much less overhead than there is to have people come in and work in company provided buildings.
There is no need to have office space, you don't have to provide benefits for the employees and you don't have to provide paid time off. All of these things are things that will make freelancing or telecommuting to grow in the future.

Yes. since initial expenses and overhead expenses are less in freelancing --each one can operate in his own place--you are right. it will grow very well in the decades to come. good day.

I don't use either of those sites. I'm signed up with both but don't use them. I am signed up with another place, elance, but don't use it either. I'm satisfied to write for Yahoo voices.. sadly it doesn't pay people outside of the US for upfront payments. I make good page view money also... at least $50 a month for doing nothing.

Good you are writing for yahoovoices. You have rightly stated that they do not pay outside US. anyhow it is a good place to write and earn.

I am from the Philippines and I have done tasks in odesk.com. At the start, it seems kind of hard because you need to build up your reputation so that more clients will give you work and will hire you. I started it when I was still in college. It can give you extra income more than you earn here in mylot if you have strong skills like blogging, SEO, marketing, article writing and etc. It has earned me a lot of income to add to my allowances in school. I suggest this for all the youngsters who are interested in making money online and as part time. Recently, I haven't got time to find work in odesk because I have been busy with my full time job. I don't think it can replace offline jobs. @ravisivan (14082)

thanks for the response. yes. online work cannot replace offline work. Satisfaction received is more in offline work when you work for people and giving them maximum satisfaction. good day.

Mostly filipino mother which staying in home are usually working with them. Also some professionals are working there also, if I have more time I can do it but time for is the big barriers.. see you around
