Magic Mike

After so trepidations I reluctantly took my wife to see Magic Mike last night at the movies. I for one was not looking forward to seeing a movie about male dancers and having to deal with the fact I could never live up to hunks of the big screen. I was only one of 2 men there with our wives and let me say at first I did feel out of place. Once the movie started I settled in and thought to myself that at least I was here with my wife and we could enjoy the night, which we did, at the movies and dinner. The movie was well done and did not make me feel out of place, not going to spoil the movie for those who did not see it yet, the men on the stage made me feel great as my wife did not get worked up over them. The movie was not, for me, the best movie I have ever seen nor was it the worst one made either. Loads of movies do not live up to the hype of the previews, yet many surpass the previews. What is your thoughts on the movie if you did see it and did you feel it live up to the hype?

Hello stellers12 Congratulations on going with your wife to a movie you otherwise wouldn't be inclined to see. I bet you made her happy. I have only just heard of this movie. Isn't Matthew McCaughney (sp?) in it? I am not such a fan of his. Is a lot of the hype due to his being in it? Thanks for the review. I am now curious about this movie whereas before I hadn't even considered seeing it. Peace

Yes he is in this movie and is not like any role he would normally be in. The movie gathered more hype due to the nature of the movie and not for who starred in it. I am glad that I was able to make my wife happy even if it was seeing a movie, which for us is the small things in life we enjoy.

On further reflection I realize that there is a movie role Matthew played that I really enjoyed, and that was in Tropic Thunder. Mrs. Turner and I enjoy watching movies together as well.

hi steelers I am glad your wife did not make you feel jealous over any hunky looking male dancers, I have not seen it yet but maybe I wouyld like it , I do not know. I like movies like the Lord of the Rings trilogy so I might not care for Magic Mike. lol but you got out with your wife and enjoyed dinner and the movies so thats what counts.

Hmmmm. I was actually planning to watch it also since I've seen it as part of the top 10 box office hit. I haven't check it even in the internet, so I was thinking it has something to do with Magic. Is it the one Channing Tatum on it?

It is a fun movie. I watched it together with my boy friend and we are practically laughing when during the strip tease act. I guess anyone can watch it. Guys can watch this together with their girl friends. But I think it would be awkward to watch this in a boy's night out. Hehe.
