What would you do with your life?

People are always talking about don't be afraid to follow your dreams, don't let fear stand in your way, and so on and so forth. For me, it's not about fear. I do worry that I'll take a risk and land flat on my face but it's not like I haven't done it before. My biggest issue is not having enough money. Or a way to get the money. Or there's the part where you work to make money but don't have any time to spend it because you're working so hard to earn it.... So, what would you do with your life if money weren't an issue? The first thing I'd do is move. I want so badly to live in a big city but can't seem to get enough money saved up to move. I'd buy a condo or fairly large apartment somewhere - Chicago or New York, probably - and move there. Then I'd travel. I have friends in countries all over the world; I'd visit them. And I'd visit other places as well. Maybe drag some of those friends along with me.

My immediate goal is to move out of Michigan, to a better place. For some reason, I am having such a hard time here. People say try harder. Well, that only backfires. I think that after 32 years of being here, if I haven't found any bit of success here, it's time to pack up and move. When I mean by any success, I mean by finishing school, not having a a decent job, a relationship, or at least something that I can call my own, then it's time to move. Originally, my goal was to move over the summer, but I have since started a job, but the problems are still there. This is not the greatest job that I have right now, but it will take care of the bills, and help me raise money to move for the time being. I can see the difference between the friends that have moved out of here and the ones who've stayed. The friends that have moved are happier, even though they say where they are isn't a lot better, but it beats here. The people who stayed, including myself, are not as happy. Now they say that things are getting better here, and even if they are, the damage has been done. I'm tired of hearing and waiting about things getting better. I don't have time to wait, nor can I fight with the large amount of negativity here to make sure things do get better. This may sound selfish, but I would rather spend the time and energy improving myself.

I understand completely what you are saying. It is definitely necessary to have money to do things that we would like too. After all a lot of things cost. I hope that you will be able to save up and move and travel like you would like to. I also would like to travel. I have never been on a cruise before but I really would love to go on one. So I'm hoping to save up for that. I would like my family to travel and have a lot of memories from the places and things we have done together.
