Jobs and the economy

Jobs are hard to come by in every country. Does that give the lazy homeless the right to beg and harass people? I have seen people aggressively begging following people. There are lots of things you can do. Those who beg do so for their next drug fix or their next drink. When I did panhandle, I kept quiet holding a sign, talking only to say thank you, god bless you or if someone asked me a question. I never did that 24/7. I actually found it embarrasing to do. I stopped and did work that I am proud of. Work that makes me appreciate the money I make. I am aware that there are people who cannot work. I know there are not many jobs to be had. There are more people than jobs. Get creative. Volunteer, that could turn into something. I would rather work, than beg aggressively which will get people arrested. About 3 weeks ago, my friend brought me lunch, this guy walked up in the library begging for food. No matter where I live, I would do anything I could for work, even if it did not pay anything or very much.

I have helped a couple homeless people. You do have to be careful. People have been robbed, assaulted and more helping those who are homeless. It is those people who make things harder for everyone.

I was made redundant from my job as container marketing controller in 1993. I had worked there for two years and in that recession it was way too challenging to find another job. I claimed income support and it was very little to live on. I lived in a rural village and bus fares into the city were pricey. I rode my bike and walked around. I wrote job applications and went to some interviews. I wasn't able to find a job and it was depressing. I had bought my cottage in 1991 and it was hard to pay the bills with so little money. When I did get some money I decided to let out my cottage and get a working holiday visa for Australia. I went off there and found work far more easily. I worked as a children's nanny, a factory packer and a charity collector. I loved my trip around the world and work that I did in Australia. When I came home I did more studying so I could become a primary school teacher. The homeless in my home country sell the Big Issue, a magazine. It is a shame when they beg in an aggressive or bothersome way. I think give to a charity helping the homeless or the poor. I don't like to give directly. Yes, in suggest voluntary work for those jobless people. It might give them a new direction, a good word to the paid employer of the future and teach them new skills. It would be less miserable than staying at home all the time.

I too, would do everything except begging or asking someone for food. I know that if we will just be industrious enough, we will never starve. Before I was able to find a good job that I have right now, I tried every kind of decent job that would help me to give food to my family without asking anybody.

Hi friend, we must do a work for our living. Each and every job is having its own important nothing is inferior and nothing is superior. We must be proud about our job and do our work properly without disturbing others

Hi desertrose. In the world we live in today, there are so many people whom are at the bottom of the food chain. Most of those people do try to work and do try to get a job because they want to rise from their poverty. But even if they do want to work, they couldn't find any maybe they did not finish schooling or maybe companies simply do not like them. And because of this, they often resort to begging. They do not choose to beg for a living. they are not lazy and laziness is not a reason on why they beg. But they have no other choice. In fact, begging on the streets is actually more energy exerting than sitting in the office. I believe that we should not look down on them. They still try even when situations are getting nasty. They still have hope despite the strong misfortunes upon them. These people are in fact striving for their survival. And that is why, we should not belittle them. This is my opinion.
