Yahoomail's tab "Conversations"--how do you get rid of it???

Recently I noticed a new category under my inbox called "conversations" and every day I get some random person trying to start a conversation with me this way. 
I immediately delete them but I REALLY do not like this feature and do not want anyone to contact me this way, especially people I don't know. Any way to get rid of this, or am I stuck with it? Thanks!

It's Yahoo's IM (instant message) system. I'm not sure you can delete that function entirely.
When the unwanted folks pop up, make sure to mark them as spam and block them.
