All of us has a dream that someday we will become successful as Bill Gates or Robert Kiyosaki, that's to mention myself. But it seems that were still far from our dreams. Could you lend me some tips on how are you going to motivate yourself to success? Thank you.

In order for me to be motivated to achieve my goals, I divide them into chunks. In this way, I do not get too overwhelmed with the big picture and focus on the small steps (gradually increasing) that will ultimately lead me to my goal. What do I mean by this? First off, I will have to make my goal measurable. Becoming a millionaire is too vague a goal. How do you define being a millionaire? In five years, how much money you should have in your savings that will make you say you are still on track with your millionaire goal? How much savings should you have in four years? three? two? one? in five months? in four? in three? in the next payday? During the beginning of this year, i was struggling to pay off a five-digit credit card debt. And everyone knows having credit card debt is very much risky. During the new year, I set a goal to zero out this debt within this year.... It's been half-year now. And I'm finally a month closer to zeroing my debt. how did I do it? Well, I set aside a certain amount of money (calculated) every payday so that I won't get overwhelmed with the ballooning payments. To cut this short, motivate yourself to reach your ultimate goal by dividing into smaller chunks. By achieving each chunk, you get the satisfaction that you have done something good as well as the motivation to achieve another batch of tasks which will lead you to the next goal.

A five-digit credit card debt in less than a year? How much did you put into the payments every month? Tell me. I'm curious. I'm impressed!

Dividing chunks, thanks I think that helps. Maybe this is the right thing that I should do first. Focus on small achievements before going to the bigger one.

To answer SydneyHazelton's question, let's just say that I set aside 75% of my income each month just to kill the card debt. I did the 75% even if it is 30% more than the monthly minimum due I must pay. If you're familiar with creditcards, you know that it's not advisable to pay just the minimum due, right? I wouldn't deny that I made sacrifices such as not spending for my favorite, mouth-watering chocolate cake, or putting off the purchase of the gorgeous shoes or shirts that I had always wanted even when they're offered at discounted rates, or maybe spending for an extra bunch of French fries.... *sigh* also, it's not just my debt that I have to set aside for... there's still the monthly Internet service payments, the food allowance, transportation, etc. This means that I have only around 15% of my income as extra cash. Tough months. but i'm glad they're almost over. :-D

I would keep going as. I don't want to be exactly like them but I have my own goals in life to become someone prominent in life.. I always wantyed to be a singer..I sing Hindi songs..and when I was at home in Fiji, In University of the South Pacific (USP), i was in USP band.. everywhere i went people told me that I should be in India and I should do something about my talent. I always wanted to go to india but I couldn't afford it..I will need at $3000 and plus i dont know anyone in India. I used to dream of this but one day, I saw Scholarship form to study in India.I thought this is my chance. I wanted to apply but for that I needed to do my medical which was costing $50. I dint have that much on me...I dint want to lose that chance but couldnt find a solution. I sat in a Bus and went for a round cos i dint know wat to do and it was last day to submit forms in the indian Embassy..Then fromfar i saw a doctors board on a building..I got off..wanted to give it a try for the last time..You wont belive me, that doctor did my medical for $5.. I went and submitted my form..Finally I got the scholaship.. Everything was paid for.. Becaus eof that today , I am in india. and I know that my dream to become a singer will come true one day..If God has supported me till now, then how can i give up? One thing I want to tell you that, you must be very alert because you have to act when opportunity is there.. Good luck for your suceess

I always dreamed of having a great life ahead of me, but suddenly I just stopped for a while and think that success isn't something that we got my chance, I guess its a choice.. if we choose to be successful, we'll do everything to have it.. Positive thinking is one of the key on motivation yourself to success, Second would be patience, people tend to be in a hurry to be rich but it isn't that why GOD say wait in everything that you wanted.. Third, never forget to pray and be thankful for what you have..

1. Have a dream. 2. Know your talents. 3. Know your strengths and weaknesses. 4. Always introspective 5. Consider the criticism / correction of others. 6. Work harder. 7. Don't ever give up. 8. Willingness is more valuable than ability. 9. Start with yourself. 10. Start now. 11. Be yourself, do not be someone else. 12. We are the blessing of parents and families. (and more)

Well there are two main ways that motivate the people. The first is the family and friends which encourage you always. However I hardly believe that if someone wants to succeed and really want that, working hard and one day the succeed will come.

family is really of great help as a source of inspiration but that doesn't drive me to work harder. Maybe there's something else that I need.

as for me my motivation to be successful are my parents who are there to support me in all the things i did. they never turn their backs on me so as for me they are my motivation for my goals. i want them to have the things they want so they will always be my motivation for my goal to success.

i think main role for motivation is our atmosphere.. i mean to say if your atmosphere have negativity than it make you lazy and negative and divert you from your target... in opposite if you have positive atmosphere than you get positive energy and it help to achieve you to your target and make you always motivated... best of luck
