Speaking of BAD NEWS... it's really happening round the clock!

I was about to retire to bed when an old friend's post caught my attention.
She works at night and she's on her way home. To make sure she reaches home in one piece, she decides to take a cab every single end of shift. Only earlier, she experienced the unexpected. What she thought was a safe tour home turned into a horrible one.
The cab driver held her up and took ALL her belongings. The pervert even had to check her private parts for other valuables he thought she might be hiding them in. That's when she cried harder. Inside the cab, the driver blind folded her, tied her wrists together and her legs were tied together, as well. She was told to get out of the car after. She was thinking it's the end of her. The next thing she heard was a command for her to kneel down and bend her upper body down the floor. Which she did in fear of being stabbed. She was, of course, terribly frightened during the entire time. She even thought she was gonna be thrown into the ravine or something. She recalls that most incidents like this ended up in fatality.
She was relieved when after a few minutes, she heard another voice assuring her she's already safe and she was freed from the ropes. The man helped him up to his feet. She later on found out that she was left by the cab driver in a prominent subdivision somewhere in Pasig, City. The nearby security guard was the one who called help for her and a news reporter by the name Rico Diaz helped her to report the incident to the nearby police station.
I feel for her and I hope she gets justice for what happened to her. It's a totally scary experience. :(
I don't mean to share bad news. I just want everyone to be more careful when riding a cab. It's hard to just place our confidence in anything these days, it appears.

This is a horrible experience. Taxi driver...holdupper. My goodness! I hope he gets apprehended and get lethal injection as soon as possible. How could there be evil people like him!
It is really so sad for the lady but thank God she is safe. I don't know for how long this traumatic incident will haunt her. I hope she gets over as soon as possible.

I was so shocked when I read her story. I was already sleepy before that and then after reading the entire piece, I was already so awake. Couldn't believe it happened to someone I know. Not to mention, something as horrible as that happened to someone I know. :(

OMG that is terrible! You think you are getting into a cab that is SAFE and then that happens. I feel so bad for her cause she has to live with this memory for the rest of her life because of this jerk. It is going to make me think twice about getting in cabs alone in other cities cause I don't take cabs in my city

True. When she was sharing her experience through FB, she mentioned she was even shaking. Something like this will really etch in anyone's mind forever. Aside from the lost valuables, there's a trauma that she will forever carry.

It's oh so true. You don't know anymore how else are you gonna protect yourself. You'd resolve to having your own car, yet there are still another group you should be very careful of. tsk tsk

It is horrible for this lady in such a case. I hope she is back to life, to her normal and quiet life mentally after the terrible incident. I am very sorry to hear the news and wish the evil cab driver to get caught very soon. Otherwise it is hard to say what evil things he might do to some other people. Take care, sharkfin.

Ikr? It's totally a horrible experience for her. She had all the reasons to be really frightened as what was done to her was what's done to those who didn't make it alive. Thank God her life was spared. We all have to be careful in choosing a cab especially at the wee hours of the night.

wow I would seriously have thought it would be perfectly safe to ride in a cab but you know what its never guaranteed that anything is safe anymore. A police could have pulled her over and taken her into his vehicle and done the same thing. Its terrible this happened to her. Some people are just bad people and do terrible things like this to innocent people. She will probably be fearful of ever taking a cab again now. I feel terrible for this poor women what she went though. I hope they are able to find this disgusting cab driver and put him in prison. He deserves to be punished.

This is definitely bad news. I'm sorry about your friend, sharksfin. She really had a tough night. After what had happened, it's hard for her to feel safe again. That said, I'm glad that she's safe and uninjured. I hope this will be the last time she'll encounter such things. I really hate hold-uppers, kidnappers, thieves, etc. Just because they're poor, they feel that their entitled to other people's properties. They don't realize that we had worked really hard to acquire whatever we have now. I hope God will punish these evil people.
Thanks for sharing this. Everyone should be careful. Some people who haven't encountered such things think that it's not that dangerous out here. But it is.

True. Her mom even told her they better just consider the valuables as pittance for the pervert man. Nothing will ever be more precious than anyone's life.

wpw that will make me wonder every time I take a cab. yes evil does unfortunately exist. I am glad that poor woman finally got rescued and the evil cabdriver did not go any further
., how horribly frightening that all was for her and sadly it will take time for her to get over that too. I will be really vigilant f rom now on and not take chances.

There isn't really a real safe way going home at night, though. I have heard other stories of hold ups in jeeps. The gang doing it is much more notorious and brutal. They really slash people with sharp weapons. Scary!
