Gordon Murray,Ace F1 Car designer having previously worked for the famous Brabham and McLaren teams, and also the man behind the McLaren F1 supercar, has in recent years turned his talents to Car production and a couple of new road going City cars..
I recently saw a TV documentary on his career and his plans for these new cars, code named the T25 and the T27,the T25 being at advanced prototype stage.
The design team stripped down a couple of contemporary city cars, one of them being a SMART car,to see what could be done to improve on their already small size and weight..and went smaller again..the T25 is narrower and shorter than the SMART(!) yet can seat 3 while the SMART is a 2 seater..Some (other) differences are the "Arrowhead" seating layout as pioneered in the F1 Supercar..the Driver sits front and Centre, while the passengers are behind-this car won't need left or right hand drive configurations to sell in different world markets..instead of doors,it has a front opening canopy enabling step-in access-no more being hemmed in at the car park..speaking of being hemmed in..I understand 2 Smart cars can fit nose to tail in a regular sized parking space..the T25 can fit THREE side by side, nose in to the Kerb, and it may be possible for 2 of them to share a traffic lane..

It looks to me like it is one of the most expensive coffins ever, but then again, with cemetery plots at a premium in some countries, the fact that it will accommodate three does seem to be a good selling point.

There is a precedent for wanting to be buried in your favourite car...though I doubt if Hummers were on the drawing board when that was the case!

LOL! I had not heard about that trend or precedent, but I guess that it really does not surprise me that one or two rich folk would request something like that ... it would have to be rich folk, because who else would be able to afford to do it
... because I have heard about some pretty strange burial requests over the years.

I think it's a cool little car. It does address some of the the big city issues nicely. I imagine the fuel efficiency would be pretty good. I expect the price to be too high for my budget. Interior space might be an issue. I'm quite tall. I fit in a Smart car comfortably enough though so maybe I'm alright.

Prices once in production were estimated around £6-7000...and the documentary showed Murray at the wheel..he looks like a tall guy!

Check the link to the "Top Gear" website review by James May I gave Stowyk below..He had a 2 Person Camera crew along in the car with him,and was impressed by the driver's position and layout..photos show a driver (I don't think it was May that time,though..) with plenty headroom..

Had a look at the article. I'm convinced I wouldn't fit though. Only confirmation I need is seeing it next to a regular car. I thought the black one looked a lot better than the blue one. Even the green they used in some of the diagrams looked better. I'm guessing Murray at a little over average height. I'm 196 cm and a bit long in the waist. I might fit barely but I don't think I'd be comfortable.
