My mother is a busy bee. she barely rests because for her resting means sitting down and cutting her materials for teaching (fer me, that's still work) Iv'e been trying to interest her to watch some movies so she could relax however whenever i put a movie on, she only stays for a few minutes. The only time that she finished a full movie was when i put on a movie for the kids. She told me then that if the movies that i show her are all like this then she would stay on and finish them. I know my mom loves kids but i only found out recently that she loves kids' movies too. Does this make my Mom childish or is it just normal for people her age (almost 60) to stick with light movies

plus if you have a two year old kid you would have no choice but to like them because you would need to accompany your child while watching

My husband (46) loves kids movies. And my mother in law is more likely to watch a kids movie than a "grown up" movie. I don't think it makes her childish at all. Some people like to watch things to be entertained and not have to put a lot of thought into it. I know a lot of the "grown up" movies you can't miss a thing or you'll be confused in the next scene.

that's exactly what she said. according to her its not relaxation when you have to starin yourself and put a lot of though in a movie

I have the same experience with you. My mom is a busy bee. Even though she doesnt need to clean the house, she will the clean the house. She manages to keep herself busy with things that I dont understand like fixing clothes even though they are already stacked and thinking what she will cook tomorrow. I want my mom to relax. She does not like kid movies unlike your mom. She likes watching those horror types :) but regardless, she is the busiest person i have ever seen

i should be glad then that my mom likes kid movies because i won't be able to stand it if she likes those horror ones. Hahaha! it seems like if your mom and my mom were friends, they would have so many things in their mind they wouldn't even remember each other's names

Not at all ddaguno! In fact watching movies about kids is very enlightening as you get to understand and see the world in a child's eye. I also like movies about kids and talking about kids' stuff as well simply because they are funny, heartwarming and that is one thing a person will look forward to as life goes on. It is something you want to hold on to that this world is not real that tough, that simple things like kid stories, laughter and everything in between. It also helps us remember our silliness when we were kids once, and sometimes, that is enough to make our day. Glad to know your mom loves kids' stuff and watching movies about it !

i am already 35 but i am a kid at heart! :) i am really fond of watching cartoons ever since i was a child... especially now that i have a 2-y.o. son, i accompany him to watch tv. So i never get bored of watching them, and I even memorize their jingles so I can teach my son how to sing along. :)

to get the attention of my nephew who is just turning 2, i sing the songs of his favorite shows, i love you and you love me (Barney), the Backyardigans, and his favorite... "whoooooo lives in a pineapple under the sea... Spongebob Squarepants!" with matching pirate voice.

Kids movies are not just made for kids. They put adult humor in them now too lol. I am 32 and I love movies like Finding Nemo, Ice Age, Shrek and other movies like that. They are lighthearted and an entertaining way to spend the night with the kids

60 is not ancient and mom is not childish because she enjoyed a kigts movie, a lot of adults also enj0y some of the so called kids movies. I do also at times like Shrek,it was a fantastic movie and a lot of us were elderly too. I imagine your mom likes light hearted movies occasionally as some are somber and can be depressing too.Leave her to her own likes she is not childish.

ok.. ok.. peace Hatley I love my Mom. I just want her to enjoy some of the movies that I really like but now that i know she's not interested with them I let her watch all the kid movies that she can. well, with the little free time that she has, she can't even watch one in a week.

Well I know old people who still enjoy cartoons so your Mom who loves movies for the kids is not alone. I think there is something in kids movies that delight them. Maybe the fact that it is very light and makes them feel good and I think it makes them feel they are young again.

There is nothing that is peculiar about this at all. Considering the fact that your mother is a teacher, she does spend the majority of her time with children and because of that she is used to things being somewhat light and used to the way that her students think. I would imagine that if her life's work was something completely different from what it is, she would find a different kind of movie to be what she is the most interested in watching.

I guess so... if birds of the same feathers flock together then they should have the same interests too. since she always want to be around kids then she likes what kids do
