I heard that walking is healthy. I sometimes walk from my house to my work. But the weather is too hot so I just walk if I feel like walking. There are things that I can benefit from walking. First, it's good for my health. Second, I can save money too. In my country, walking is not really common. I mean even the shop is walking distance some people prefer to ride a bus/taxi or jeepney. I rarely ride a taxi since it is very expensive most especially if it will take me 10 to 15minutes ride by bus or jeepney,. Walking is the best exercise and it is one of my goal too for good health.

I do that too. When since I was in elementary I always walk like three to five kilometers. Not because I have no money but because I just want to. That's my stress release. If I'm sad I walk. When I was still working I walk 12 kilometers to work. Its a four hours walk. lols. I don't know how can I survive that walk but I did that twice a week. And from obese to I loss weight in just four months I reach normal weight. But since I loss my job since five years ago. I only stay at home and I become obese again. lols.

Walking is great exercise if you want to lose weight. When you exercise at a high heart rate you improve stamina. When exercising at a low heart rate (like walking) you burn fat.

I really enjoy walking because it is free, healthy, interesting and enjoyable. It can save me money if I walk mu disabled son to school pushing his wheelchair. My daughter goes to a childminder just five minutes walk away. Therefore I am spending less money on petrol for my car. I like to walk fast to burn some body fat. I like to walk even if it is raining. I prefer not to walk to the supermarket and walk home with heavy bags of shopping. Before I learned how to drive I did that by walking or cycling and it was tiring. I love walking along a scenic track like in the countryside or by the seaside. I adore walking and seeing picturesque views. Walking in such lovely places can give me happiness.

You are very correct about walking! Many health issues can be improved or even cured by walking. I have begun walking more out of a desire to lose a few pounds and to improve my cholesterol and blood pressure levels. I had to stop for a few weeks as we had a massive and excessive heat wave on the east coast of the US and it was actually dangerous to be outside for most of that time. So, I busied myself in the house, moving around as much as I could until the weather improved again and I could once again start walking. I firmly believe that, if you can walk, you should walk and not take a bus, taxi, car or any other form of transportation unless it's like a bicycle or something like that where you use your energy to operate it. Like you said, it is much cheaper to walk but the health benefits are awesome.

I love walking because is a good for the heart, to save money and help my feet to become strong. Before I always ride taxi and jeepney even if my destination is near but my husband encourage me to walk and I enjoy it. Walking has lots of health benefits and helps to maintain weight. When I am walking with my husband in the park we can walk as long as we can just to enjoy the surrounding and enjoy each other.

Walking is one of the best form of healthy. I also think that walking helps to save money and also walking helps to keep oneself in healthy. I think people who travel shorter distances should try to walk rather than using the vehicles. I think going to nearby shops one can walk the shorter distances.

Hi tess, I can attest that it is really good...Well not a personal experience but a colleague. She has a high blood pressure and after knowing that fact, instead of riding a taxi or what, she walks from her house to the office and vice versa. The walking hours take for about 8 minutes with faster steps and 12 with slower steps. :-)

There are lots of benefits from walking. Its one of the best exercise too. I don't have much with exercise so what i did is go up and down my stairs and that is enough for an exercise. It makes me sweat all over and I like the light feeling after sweating off some pounds..whew..

Walking is definitely good exercise and good for your health. Some people do not walk due to the time it takes to get from one place to another, though, because it really is not practical to walk for more than a mile or two going to work or the store, etc. If you are in a place that has sidewalks or is bicycle friendly, however, then you can ride a bicycle, which is also good exercise and takes far less time to get from place to place than walking does.

Walking by far is the best form of exercise that I really enjoy. I usually walk in the morning and enjoy the morning sunshine, going to some routine places, but most often the public market which is around 3km from our place where I can buy food for lunch, lol!

I also think that walking is one of the best form of exercise and the very less costlier exercise. I think walking not only helps to keep a person healthy, but also helps to save money. I think it is better to walk on the morning and the evening when the whether is not hot.

When I started going through menopause, I started gaining weight for the first time in my adult life outside of pregnancy. I immediately began walking an hour a day, no matter the weather. This got me through the worst hump of menopause when the body gets sluggish and doesn't burn up calories the way it used to. That was three years ago, and I still walk rather than drive places nearby. I've maintained my size 6 or 8 and gotten over that sluggish hump.

When I was assigned in our Regional Office, I used to walk whenever I would have to go home. I know that thing helps me a lot, I was able to save some amount and it is one good form of exercise as well.

You are correct that walking is good for the body as it is an action of exercise that is really needed by our system to be smooth as our blood circulation is regulated.I do so many walking everyday as it is demanded by my work as a massage therapist to go to my clients houses to do my job. When I see to it that the place I am going is just 2 blocks or 3 blocks away from my place,I just walk to go there because I know it could makes me healthier than those who always rode in a very near place because they felt ashamed when seen just walking.

I completely agree that we have many benefits of walking. Medically there are many advantages of walking. By walking one gets a full body exercise. But I think walking for exercise is different from walking for work. Means if we want to walk as exercise then we should walk without anything in mind. One must not be in a rush when walking for exercise. I usually have a walk in morning for about 45 min or so. I feel very fresh and energetic after a good walk.

Years ago, i used to walk from my office in Makati to Mandaluyong. It would take me 45 minutes to get home. I stopped then because it was getting really hot and im afraid that i might come hypertensive. I would wear rubbershoes and also a mask so that i wont inhale on the pollution in the traffic area. It sure felt great! Apart from that, i am doing my share in decreased fuel consumption. It is not that hot anymore and i know i should start that routine again. My laziness is just stopping me heheheheh! Actually, my mom is not in favor of this walk either because there are so many goons in the streets and i might be robbed.

I think that I already know that walking is healthy but I often dismiss it because I am worried more about earning a living than doing walking. In these days, everything is rushed and everybody does the fast paced lifestyle. Anything that can lead to faster travel time and use of transport or a vehicle instead of walking. Although I try as much to get as many walking as I can these days specially when my legs are really feel like they are becoming lazy or if I m having cramps. Walking does relief them and I sometimes find myself wishing that I would walk and walk, no matter what my destination is.

I like walking. If only for 15 minutes, I walk each day, from the metro station to home. I like it, because I feel the fresh air, I move and it's always so relaxing when I think whilst moving and walking. Also. I love walking around with my boyfriend in the city, it's so romantic. If only the places I usually go to were closer, because now I have to take the public transport if I want to save on time, and also, I wouldn't bear walking that much from home.
