I just ended up reading what i wrote on the slides. I think it is my stage fright that i just choose the easier and fats way to finish presenting in front of everyone.. I really find it hard to talk and explain in front of a class.

Public speaking is a skill that can be learned. An - Public speaking is a skill that can be learned. Anyone can be good in it.
Speaking in public is a skill. Most people are not good in it. In fact, most would think that having to speak in public is worse than to drink poison. But the skill can be learned. With good preparation and more practices, anyone can be a good public speaker.

yeah, that is what i think i lack.. practice.. It is quite scary for me which is why i avoid it if possible.. But i think i would need to overcome this sooner or later since i might not survive the real world if i don't..

Oh, don't take it too seriously. Public speaking is just one of the thousands of things that it would be nicer if we know how to do. But not knowing it is nothing major, it is just like you don't know how to whistle, too bad but everybody can sing. Public speaking is just one of the ways to achieve something. If you are a leader, you have to talk to your followers. If you are a manager, you have to talk to your staff publicly. But there are leaders or managers who are not good in public speech but they are still good leaders and good managers.

There is nothing to be worried so much, in initial days all speakers, presenters face this, but as time passes, it goes, i am sure you will feel comfortable soon..

I hope i will feel comfortable.. I do not do so much reporting since when i was in high school, it was always in a group or only one representative needs to report. But now it's different.. it's hard to adjust still.

Don’t beat yourself to it. Yes, it is a common fright and its being common does not make it go away faster even with a lot of practice or training. it is always natural to have stage fright and read the slides when it creeps up to you. I guess the only thing you can do is familiarize yourself with the material as go as long as far you are comfortable. It is always said that presentation are there to guide you and not be read but when the fright attacks, sometimes you do cave in. Not everyone is a good speaker or presenter. It takes practice but sometimes eve taking the chance is frightening.

Yeah, that is what i lack i guess. practice.. And i just hate reporting so i avoid it as much as possible. i would rather report about entertainment than school stuff.. since i now more about them and i could go on and on.

That's one part of me that needs improvement. I suck at reporting since highschool and I need to learn how to speak fluently and spontaneously.

I had the same problem before. My advice is to prepare small indiot cards ih which you can refer to in case you forget something. Also avoid puting all the details in your powerpoint presentation. Leave out some items so will have something to say that wasn't in the slide.

Oh yes, i did do that.. leave some stuff out so i can do the explaining. But in the end i got so confused, looking at my copy and looking at the presentation, i didn't now which part i was anymore.. i should have used a smaller paper.

don't you worry because everyone has this feeling of freight in front of the people. but it has remedial at least to lessen the nervousness you might feel during your presentation. i can say that studying your topic beforehand would get you familiarized with the subject. if your confident enough that you know what your doing, you will not be afraid no more because you know how to answer questions that might be thrown to you.

Yeah, if you really do know the topic well then there is nothing to be afraid of.. i kind of studied it, but it was quite hard and i was not feeling it, i only understood about half of it.

Me too. I always know what I would discuss and I already plan ahead what I will say, however, the results of reporting almost always end up not that good. I really get the jitters when I am discussing in front with a lot of people. The nervousness is what really brings me down. But sometimes, I do get good to excellent presentations when I don't get nervous at all. So I think, nervousness and jitters is what makes you not good at reporting too.

First of all be strong and confident. Do not think at all that you can't do it.On the contrary always think that it is very easy and i can do it. Let your vision be so clear that you are not afraid of anything. Let me give you one example. "At a war one solder tells his captain that there are enemies around and we are surrounded allover. But without getting disturbed the captain says, OK that is fine now we can attack from any direction." So if you are well prepared then behave like this captain and achieve your target without any tension.
