Nancy Pelosi is famous for saying this about Obamacare: “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of controversy.” Today Paul Ryan, who is one of the leaders of the republican party who have not offered ANY alternative to Obamacare said today: "If you give us more elected representatives to fix this problem, we will fix this problem in 2013," How are you going to fix a problem when you haven't told the American people how you are going to fix it? Can you explain to me the difference between what Ryan said, and what Pelosi said?

debater, I have told you the answer several times.
Conservative methods is to get government out of the way and let the free market take care of it. What part of this, which I have told several times do you do not get.
We are not allowing the free market to take care of it because we are allowing free loaders. If did not allow the free loaders, they would be trying to get health insurance.
Ryan was right on with his statement. No Pelosi moment.

When insurance companies pay the tab for everything — down to flu shots and sprained ankles — it makes health care more expensive for everyone. Why? Because when someone else pays for your health care, you aren’t likely to ask, or even care, how much it costs.
Good argument about Lasik eye surgery – rarely covered by insurance and the price has dropped 30% over the years because people shop around for the best deal. This is worth watching, no matter what side of the debate you are on:
A trauma or catastrophic event type of plan where you have a pretty high deductible would work to cover extraordinary costs. Some plans for retirement that cover nursing home stay are already popular. AND you could have a healthsavings account through your work where your employer puts in some determined by a baseline exam. The healthier you are, the more you use preventative measures (lifestyle type things) the more the employer puts in?
Tort reform so that malpractice isurance isn't cost DOCTORS so much so he wouldn't have to charge so much. And an indpendent advisory board that was NOT affiliated with doctor/hospital to arbitrate disputes rather than malpractice suits. All good ideas but they don't give the government ANY POWER so they're discounted.

Instead of asking why Paul Ryan doesn't have the same healthcare as everyone else, why don't you investigate who MADE THE LAW that gives him (an everyone else in government) special treatment? I mean, they way it is said, you'd think Paul Ryan gets special treatment that he himself voted to give himself. lol
Isn't he one of the freshman class? Why is it HIS fault Congress a long long time ago voted to exempt themselves from obeying the laws we have to. Do you know for certain Paul Ryan hasn't tried to change this? I've read some of his ideas, he's for fiscal responsibility...isn't that what we WANT? But oh yea, we want to keep all the stuff we get free too.

That way no one but rich people can afford heath care right? That's the way current system was going with the way premiums are going. How come the American people can't have the same healthcare Paul Ryan currently gets?

The difference is that Pelosi was talking about a Bill that would become law. It is different he is trying to get his party to gain more power so he is saying hey if you vote for us we will fix that Problem that we both know is the issue with this country. He is trying to get votes. Pelosi was trying to get a Bill passed I mean that is two completely different things one is an appeal to the people to vote more of your "side" in the other is an appeal to people in congress to not read the Bill and just pass it.

Dark, they were both trying to get votes, one to pass a bill, one to get a majority so they can eventually pass a bill. Instead of coming out and saying we need to find common ground with democrats, and find a way to work together like former presidents and congress have, we need it our way or the highway. Isn't this an insult to the Reagan, and Clinton years where both worked with congress (if they wanted to or not) and grew the economy. We all know that one party control hasn't helped that country at all. Yet, both parties feel that they only way they can get something done is to control everything. This country is not going to get better until we start to work together, instead of against each other.
They both are an appeal to people to vote for what they want. The American people need to understand that there are two sides to every story, it would be better if they did in both cases here.

Pelosi was also looking to make her party more powerful, because that bill (and don't think the leftists in the Democrat party didn't know what was in it) gives almost unlimtited power to the federal government to tax and regulate a very large portion of our economy. Let's not forget the federal government has voted in virtual control of the banking industry, and the automobile industry thanks to the bailouts and legislation surrounding them. If we don't stop this drive towards socialism, the LEFTISTs in the Democrat Party (PELOSI's party) will be the only party in power to the exclusion of the other parties. So, she had a big stake in making sure this bill was passed into law.
You know, people are right that it is no longer about liberal vs. conservative and bi partisan cooperation, to compromise and look out for their constituents. It is about those who believe in following our Constitution and those who want to shred it and forget it ever existed. If we are so blind as to how our Founders set things up to prevent this very thing from happening, and we continue to buy into the propaganda that the LEFTISTS (socialists, communists) in the Democrat party have America's best interests at heart, if we keep buying into the divide and conquer BS, my party do or die mentality, we will loose completely government by the people. We will be ruled by a small minority of men who's only concern is power.

debater, when you have good standards and values, you do not settle. If you were working with a murderer, okay a settlement between you two is that you can murder some of the time. No, you don't compromise on values. You start losing you values, which most congressmen do, you lose.
I.e. Bush and co tried some progressive items which did not work, so the left wants to try more of them. Bush and co lost their values which conservatives are trying to reinstate.
Every time congress passes a law and make more legislation, we loses freedom. I would rather have a lame duck congress, or better yet send them home, that a congress that wants to pass a whole bunch of laws.

Fat, did you read the plan? Do you know why you don't hear about this plan? Because the only thing it does is prevent insurance companies from disqualifying you because of a per-existing condition, and outlaw federal funding of abortions. Do you really think that abortions are destroying our healthcare system? How much of the $1.2 TRILLION that is spent on healthcare is spent on abortion? .0000001% maybe? This is why you don't hear about this plan when republicans are questioned about it. Why didn't Paul Ryan talk about this plan on Capital Hill at this news conference?

Not only did he not say how he was going to fix it but I would like to know why he would get extra help to figure out his problem? My point being since the government is cutting back on everything which is what the Republicans like him want right? So why does he get extra resources when the rest of us are making do with what these people keep taking away?

I was just responding to this statement "If you give us more elected representatives to fix this problem, we will fix this problem in 2013,."

I know don't you find that worse. Screw the healthcare problem in this country, it would be one thing if he had a plan to replace it but he and all other republicans just want to repeal it. I would define that as going no where fast.

OK I see what you are saying, the people need to elect more Republicans so they can over turn it. It is just what Romney put in place in Massachusetts.
