Bye Bye AT&T

As is my nature, I get advice from you people and do the complete opposite. Call it my rebellious bone. Well I did go through with the order BUT they did a credit check and it's a no go. A credit check on a $40.00 purchase is stupid, and even with a $50.00 a month bill, it's still too low I'd think to even do a credit check.
Needless to say, I'd have to do a $100.00 deposit, which isn't that bad, it could be several hundred dollars worse. I said "no thank you" though because it's ridiculous to deposit $100 on a $40.00 purchase... It's like saying "here pay for most of the laptop, we'll cut you some slack and take off $60.00...
So after several transfers via the AT&T system and talking to several people I finally find out how much the deposit will be and kindly let them know I was no longer interested and I appreciate the time they spent talking to me.
So Bye Bye AT&T, but that's alright...
Back to the drawing board.
*dons umbrella over head waiting for the "told you so" shower...
Cup of tea anyone?
Cookies?
Iced coffee?
Give me your worst customer service story for any company?

I really hate to hear that. I know how disappointing it is when something like that happens. The worst thing about credit is that it takes barely anything to ruin it and if you don't have any, it's almost impossible to get it. I hope that you find something soon, I know how much you wanted that.
Keep your head up.

My credit has been ruined, paid off the debt a few years ago, but it's still reflecting badly on me I guess. I believe my credit report reflects that it's been paid though... Grr.. Oh well I just take it as if I'm supposed to find a better deal.

I am sorry that they did a credit check. I am surpised that they do a credit check on a small amount. I hope you will be able to save up for a computer soon. I have bought electronics from Amazon before and have never had any trouble (just a thought).

That was one of my original plans. I think though, what I will do is just save money and at the same time earn amazon gift cards. After I've saved a certain amount, I'll either buy a laptop from a store local, or I'll do it via amazon depending on how much money I've gotten there. I'm just an impatient person.

Worst customer service I ever had, countless of them out there. Especially with All state insurance, We just ask questions about whether they are willing to repair the roof for us, the agent gave us an angry tone. After that, we decided to bye bye that company. Also, the genie garage door company has one of the worst customer service too. I had bad experience with them no doubt. I just wonder how those companies survive until now. I won't visit them again if they had done me wrong.

I believe it was a subsidary of all state that gave me a bad taste in my mouth, made me mad. I suppose in all of those companies, far more people like the customer service compared to those who don't and that's what keeps them afloat.
