Essentials in moving to a new place.

This is my first time to be really on my own although I left my parents place right after I finished college. That time I decided to rent an apartment with friends. We moved from one place to another a couple of times until I decided to be on my own. And I am getting by fairly. It's my 4th month here already.
I asked the question cause am re-thinking if I made all decisions well. Like, I chose a semi-furnished place. But, I returned some stuffs I thought I won't need. One of them is the electric stove. It's not that I don't really need it but I have reasons why I didn't want it to stay. One is, it's already rusted and it's electric. I don't know how to cook using it. I was also planning to buy a new single burner once I get extra cash and once I clear up some space in the kitch. Maybe I missed to do a check list or something? At the same time, I also have stuffs which I brought with me to this semi-furnished unit. Some I had to give away like the sofa, dining table and chairs, stationary bike, kitchen rack and many others.
I regret that I returned the stand fan. I brought with me two fans, actually but one broke down so I only have one left. I have ac in my room but I don't have plans in using it until my bank accounts have already been replenished.
Decision making is tough! Geesh!

Moving in to a place of your own, that sounds so so much fun. I'm looking forward to the day when my time comes. So now you can organize sleepovers(it's not too old yet for us now, is it?) and host dinner parties! I've always loved the idea of entertaining my guests. And having some friends over, with complete space and privacy without my parents and siblings prying around.
Anyway, you have TV in your place? The radio on in the morning would be great. But I think you have a laptop so you have Youtube and stuff, so fine. Provided that you have a tolerable internet connection speed :D

Oh, I don't have plans of hosting sleepovers, at all. My place isn't really big. I mean, it's just a 40sqm one with a bedroom. I won't feel comfy having a few people in my place and there's not enough room for everyone. am very particular with space. hehe. Maybe, one day when I get a bigger place. :)
I returned the TV, as well, with the stove, fan and other furnishings provided with the lease. I dunno, but I was so sure that time that I won't need it nor use it as often and it's just gonna occupy space. But, maybe, eventually, am gonna get myself a flat one I can hang on the wall. I don't have a lappy, in stead a desktop. I don't think I can work effectively with a lappy. If I am gonna have one, I will still keep my Deskie as it is more convenient for me. And, yes, I have very tolerable connection. *wink*
Thanks for being interested in my stories, Desiree. Super appreciated.

I have not moved to an apartment on my own. Well but we have moved a couple of times in the last 10 years. All of the places we have rented did not have anything on it. The apartments were just bare and there were nothing in it that we could use. It is actually better that way because we preferred to use our own things and it is more comfortable that way. We do not have to be too cautious in using them anyway especially if the things were not ours.
As for the things we consider when moving... first usually is that the place is safe all the time because working hours can extend so we need to be sure that our street is safe at any time of the day. Next is the place should be near any commute locations... in our case there are jeepneys and there are buses near the place and just a ride away from the mrt.
