who among you wants to go and work abroad, particularly in the United States? well, i do, i really do! early this day, i went to an agency which invited me for an interview regarding the teaching post i applied for. we were given an overview about the agency as well as about the people who were able to work in the US through them. most of us,attendees were enticed and were in the state of awe after learning about how broad the range of opportunities there is. i bet most of us in the room tried to put ourselves in the places of the people shown in the picture-the ones who successfully worked and lived in there. after some time, we were interviewed individually. luckily, i passed! :) after that nerve-wracking and mind-boggling interview, requirements that shall be submitted were discussed. what frustrated us most are the fees that we need to pay for. these include the processing fee of 6,500 dollars; servicing fee of 4,500 dollars, plane fare tickets of 600-1000 dollars; housing fee of 1,600 dollars and pick up fee of 200 dollars. i have not yet applied for works abroad then, today is just my first time. i really don't know if those fees are reasonable enough or too high to be grabbed. i need insights from you guys; would you mind sharing your experience/s or thoughts about my dilemma?

Oh my,that's a big money for an application. I remember our pastor told us that his wife passed in the examinations and interviews from an agency and the fees was just deducted from the salary of his wife. All she spent was the documents needed like her passport, etc. And now, they both live in the US. I wish I could share with you the name of that agency but I have no more contacts with them. I think you should go for agencies that allows fly now,pay later. Good luck to you!

It is good feeling to go abroad and work since you get better pay. So going abroad to a place where you get better package and better life is a very good idea. But seeing the charges or fees that you have to pay in this case looks kind of too much to me. I have not been to any agency for this matter but I know a lot of my cousins who have been abroad and they were not so rich. Therefore, I want to say here is that they could afford to go with what little they had. And what you are referring is just fees and not how much you are taking for yourself. It is too much fees they have asked you. I must suggest you to find another agency and check for their rates and compare.

$11000 in fees to the agency alone seems quite expensive, and I'm wondering what's with them charging TWO fees?! or Do they have an office in the US to make sure you're happy with the service you get throughout the arrangements from when you arrive until you leave the Job?...but am I correct in assuming from these fees there will be a guaranteed Job waiting for you at the end of this process when you would arrive in the US,with your residency paperwork and green card and someplace to stay all arranged? In that case,it saves you time and effort to go through the job processing yourself in another country..But do check out other options to be sure you're not being ripped off...how much would it cost if you were to apply for a Job with a US education board yourself? Wouldn't a lot of the process now be possible online, from job searching to visa info and finding someplace to stay? $11000 would be a lot more use to YOU over there to get settled in!

Not worth to pay so much money to work in US. You are not told about the tax that will eat up the bulk of your income. In the end, you will work for free for a year or two.

I can see why people would want to work and live abroad.. But i find it hard enough living where i was born let alone moving to aomewhere strange and foreign and struggling even more! I have no idea if those fees are reasonable but to me, i would not even think about those prices.. It seems steep but i have no idea myself.. Wish i could help more
