I love music. It puts me to sleep, it relaxes my tired body, it entertains me, it teaches me lesson, it reminds me of my family, friends experiences, etc. It's one thing very important to me yet I can't enjoy it fully because my new room mate hates music! My room mate couldn't tell me what's wrong. She just bought an ear piece and threw it to me saying, " Sorry, I hate noise!"

Well, she may not like your music type, i think...with me rock, hip hop types maybe too noisy sometime, especially i am in mood.. You can find out which type of music your roommate likes and then turn it on when she is in good mood, for sure she will be very interested with it and dance with you also...for sure if you like that music type also

Ah yeah, as I was told. I like mellow and some country. I'll have to find out what's hers. Thanks!

oh? I think u have to understand her. She may seem to be quaint but u have to respect her being your mate to avoid any untoward circumstances. hehe yeah I'm serious, well that's only my view. I don't know what's yours. Maybe she's thinking like- " Hey, you're not the only one who pays for the room's rent." But Sometimes we just have to be considerate with others' feelings.

hello, isohyeoh. It depends on what music does she/he likes. I think your kind of music doesn't suits her taste of music. I prefer you shoul play a music that is universal to you both. I hope it helps

I'm willing to wager that your roommate doesn't hate all noise. That sounds like an exaggeration on his or her part to send you a message that really says, "I don't like the noise that is your music.". One suggestion you could try is talk to him or her about what they like and try to find a common thread. Two friends of mine from college who were roommates had completely different tastes when it came to music. One loved country and pop/top 40. The other liked jam bands. The only middle they could find at the time was listening to one Third Eye Blind album. It became repetitive and eventually a running joke but they were both content with the music being played when that was on. Try and find a middle ground with your roommate or discuss common and mutual respect for when and where you two should or shouldn't play your music.

Hmm thanks. I'm wondering what common interests do we share but yeah, I believe we'll meet halfway..

What would my cat say? My cat, Kumi, enjoys music. He would pull his sleeping mat next to my player and relax with the sound of music!

Something is wrong. It's possible it's not your music at all. She's just irritated and probably wants silence. use earphones. Talk it out.
