Bad combination

I was drinking hazelnut flouvoured coffee when I decided to eat some strong flavoured cheese which I can't remember what it was called now. Not the best idea when it comes to taste as I drank the coffee afterwards. Wasn't a very yummy combination What foods have you mixed before that wasn't so good? Or even give strange combinations that were good

I think sometimes it's the order we eat/drink the food/drink that affects the taste misadventure, rather than the combination itself. For example, I remember eating a really heavily sugar-coated doughnut, then took a drink of a chocolate flavoured milk, which should normally taste sweet enough, but the milk turned out bland instead. It's the way our tongue is wired to compare and contrast the intensity of the flavours. By the way, I know of a famous combination of food/drink to avoid; Coca Cola and Mentos Mints!

That is very true that it's our tongue that does it. You know I love eating chocolate and then drinking water afterward it tastes pretty good. Ohhh yeah I know that one is bad I'd never eat mentos and drink coke. SOme people are stupid enough to do it though excessively, not good at all

Coca Cola is my favorite, and I eat Mentos Mints all the time too. I suppose I never really have them together at the same time. How is the combination bad? I'm curious now; perhaps next time I have both of them available, I'll try the combination myself. Wait, do they make you really 'gassy' or give you heartburn or something else?

I'll pass... That does not sound good. Thanks for the information; although I love them both, I'll make sure I don't mix them together...

Good afternoon, it's me again! My spouse would look at me strangely when I mix cheese slices with steam rice... I don't know anyone else who does that, but I like the taste of cheese melting on the rice especially when it is a freshly cooked rice...

Oh no not you again Wow that does sound delicoius. Next time I cook up some steamed rice I'm going to give that a go and melt some nice cheese in it. Thanks for sharing that combo

I don't mix food or drink together that can have a strange taste. I drink coffee only, no eating cake with it. However, if i eat something sweet, i will drink green tea with it..

Strange, for us coffee and cake is a normal thing to have together and some cafes even have coffee/cake specials. I couldn't imagine drinking my green tea and eating anything with it myself. I usually just drink that without having anything else so it's interesting that you do the opposite and that it's normal. Green tea icecream is pretty good though
