Man Celebrates 65th Birthday by Giving Away Free Money

Doug Eaton Gives Out Money On His 65th Birthday - Doug Eaton spent 65 minutes on his 65th birthday giving out $5 bills to strangers on a busy street corner in Oklahoma City.

Eaton attracted the attention of news crews and passersby with his sign that read “I have a home… and a car… and a job. Do you need a few bucks for some coffee?”

I read this article very slowly so I can understand it and I love what this man did on his birthday. Doug Eaton wanted to celebrate his birthday on a big way and he asked his friends for ideas. It turned as one of the best birthdays he had since it marked the day with random acts of kindness. He handed free money to people passing by. He handed $5 to passerbys who needed money and ended up handing more than $375. He spent 65 minutes standing on the corner street in Oklahoma City. He said that it was just one of the kind acts he did that day. He also said "keep the change" when he paid $50 for his $12 haircut and $10 for his $1.09 cup of coffee, bought lunch for several diners at a local restaurant, and gave bus fare to a stranger and his daughter, among other things. He had a question that I want to ask myself and everyone else, What if everyone or a lot of people did their birthday number of random acts of kindness on their birthday? How good would that be? I want to plan my birthday like this. Instead of spending money for myself, I want to spend the time and money helping others. What about you guys?

that is such a very sweet and kind thing the man did. I can't say that I could afford to do this. I'd much rather donate to a charity or something of the sort instead. Though we do have to wonder if all of the money we give goes to the charity or to someone's pocket...

That a very kind gesture from such a man. I wish more people celebrating their birthday should do the same thing.

Hello frey. When I read that article I thought what a good way to celebrate a birthday. I had my birthday last Saturday so can't do it this year. I really don't have the funds to do if now but plan to save it up so I can do something like that next year. I'll have to have 5x69 and that will be $345. looks a bit easy right now

This really is a special way to spend your birthday and I would love to be in the situation at some point during my life that I would be able to do something like that for other people. Right now, I am not able to afford to do something like this. However, I am one of those people that likes to take part in random acts of kindness when I can. For me, this typically happens when someone is asking for change and I will give change to those people on the street.

Please tell me when you are going to share your generosity on your birthday. I will go there. I heard those activity for the senior man to give money to the beggars. Some of the place are gathering beggars under the bridge. His generosity also attract the mass media to interview him. If I have enough money, I may go to the poor area to have one class for their kids, or maybe I will buy some presents for those kids.

There are only few people who will think to celebrate their birthdays like this. for practical reason, I will not celebrate the same way. Sound greedy? Yes, because I don't have that much money to be given away. However, I am not finally says that I will not do this. I think there are still possibility if I have enough money.

That really was some kind of strange gesture from a man since even people with stacks of money would not let much to charity or the needy .Helping others financially is really a good act to be praised fully. If celebrating an occasion by instigating such pleasant acts,it is all the more fair and appreciable.

I always have this dream to help the needy, but I can't afford it. That's the right thing to do if we have more than enough for our needs. It is always better to give than to receive.
