Now is just July but I think tickets will be cheaper when i buy it early before my trip. Therefore I bought tickets and booked hotel rooms for my travel to Thailand in October. I will go to Bangkok and then continue my trip to Phuket...All is done already..and i just wait to that time and then go to enjoy my time in there
. I haven't know much about Thailand yet...However I am very excited with it because it will be my first time traveling to Thailand...
If you have bad/nice experiences in traveling in Thailand, please share...

Sounds like fun!
Althouth I found Bangkok a bit too hot and smelly for my taste :-) And I managed to get a minor sun-stroke :-/ But I'm not really used to heat and sun. Also tripped over people trying to make us pay for feeding pidgeons, if I go back, I'll colour my hair black as they seemed to target me and not my Australian friend (her parents are from Greece so she's quite dark haired) :-)
We had some lovely food, went to a lunch budget at some posh hotel. It was not very expensive and the food was lovely. We also went to a musuem, possibly national musuem, national treasury or something like that. Nice, air condition, hardly any tourists and lot of lovely things to see.
We did not pat people on the head, because it said in the guide book that it is considered very rude. I don't think any of us would have thought about patting anyone on the head, I'm not sure why anyone would pat a stranger on the head, so I think that was a weird thing to add in a guide book.

Thank you so much for your information, it will be very useful for my trip...
I don't buy a guide book because it is expensive, that's why i can ask your experience in here...
Patting people on the head...umh, i haven't heard about it, maybe it is the old culture...same as one thing of Korean culture: we should wear socks when get in another person's house, it is rude if the others people see your foot without socks. However nowadays, many gals don't wear socks in summer time. Or a gal should make up when meet the older, if not the older will think she is very rude...
i think i maybe not different with Thai people because i am asian too...but i can't speak Thai at all...I used to eat Thai food in vietnam and i think it is delicious too, a bit spicy is my favorite...

It could be something similar, the guide book did also say you shouldn't sit with your feet pointing towards people or statues. Which is a good thing to know, as I've never thought about where my feet are pointing when you sit down. And if the feet are rude, maybe the head is considered important and private.
I'd still like to know who goes abroad and pats people on the head. I think that is the weirdest part. I definitly wouldn't like it myself. I wouldn't pat children I didn't know on the head either. Shake hands, or just say hello, no matter what age they are is my approach :-)
I like spicy too. I eat quite spicy for Northern Europe, so I didn't go for very spicy in Asia. I think it's quite a bit stronger than her, so I'd have to be there for a while and get used to it.

Oh, thank you so much for your information, i will try don't sit with my feet pointing toward another ...
Pats people on the head, i think the old people like to do it on children' head and people in here do it also, but it is not rude at all, it is just a care from the adult with a small kid.

I am very happy to hear that you have booked your trip to Thailand for October. I think that Bangkok will be a very exciting and interesting city for you to visit. If I went there I would be keen to look around the handicraft market. There was a Thai shop in Canterbury and in the window it had a model house that I liked. The lady told me it wasn't for sale because it was a display item. She told me she got it from the handicraft market in Bangkok. The palm fringed in and around Phuket are sure to be delightful. I haven't yet been to Thailand but plan to in the future. I hope that you will have a fantastic trip.

I've been to Bangkok but that was many years ago when I was just a kid; so it did not really count, I suppose, as things must be quite different now...
Phuket is a popular vacation destination for tourists from here, as well as Bali.
It's wise of you to book everything early; now you have more pocket money to take.
