Getting along with nosey neighbors

Do you all have a nosey neighbor that drives you nuts every chance they get? I do. They constantly want to invite themselves over when they know how many hours we work etc. They want to just sit and talk and waste precious time and find out our business so they can spread the word. You cannot even go out and check the mail unless they want to stop and talk. Do you have neighbors like this?

When I was still living with my folks, we have LOTS of nosey neighbors. They will even invite themselves in and help themselves to whatever's on our table. It was so awkward and I really don't know how to handle someone who just started to eat right there and then in mere minutes after entering your home. Also, whenever we have visitors over, they will also talk to them once they are already outside our house to leave; they will stop them say hi, hello, introduce themselves as our neighbor then starts asking them who are they, how are we related to them, what are they doing there, is that car theirs, etc. It's insane! One time after a very grueling end of the month reporting, i went home at around 2am; of course I phoned in earlier and told my folks that I'll just be taking a cab with some friends who's passing our place on their way home. The following day as I get out to go to work, I was asked why the heck I went home last night at 2am. I was so shocked, I was like, are you kidding me, were your waiting for me still at that time? It's kinda funny at first but it gets to my nerves and it's getting old, like if only they weren't the same age as my folks I would have told them off to mind their own biz. Thankfully now, I have sane and normal neighbors. We nod and smile whenever we pass by each other and just ask the necessary questions (Is the garbage collector coming today? Are you parking on this side or that?-that sort of thing) We do have a pretty nice relationship, nice enough that we share some food with them if there's an occasion worthy of cooking something extraordinary. But it's no more than that.

I wouldn't mind that either. My neighbors are inconsiderate and gossipers. I hate that.

Luckily, we don't have that kind of neighbors. Our neighbors kind of keep their businesses on their own, and we rarely bother each other. Honestly, my next neighbor pretty generous sometimes, they would give us fishes after they went to a fishing trip. So, overall, I am pretty satisfied with our neighborhood.

We have gave to our neighbors also but none of them ever gave to us. They all became a nuisance, waiting for a handout and always nosing in everyone's business.
