Accidentally Puppy

I posted about taking/having a dog I think about weeks ago. After comments and the pro and cons I actually decided against it. I was not having any dog for fear of the responsibility that comes with it. Last weekend I followed my mum back to her home town, and then my auntie brought three little puppies with her from her house. She said she found all those 1 month plus puppies in the dumpster. Someone just put them into a box and then dumped them near the rubbish behind some alley. They were cold and shivering because it was raining at that time my auntie found them. So she put them all in her shirt and brought them home. So I look at those puppies and kinda "have a heart" for one of them. One that is all black and the fattest and furry of all. I asked my mum if I can take him back but she said who is going to take care of him. I go out early in the morning to work and then after work I have a part time job tutoring. I will only be home at about 10 o'clock. But I was so determined to have him.. I even have a name for him already... Jecky (Jack). So Mylotters, I now am a proud owner of a cute pet puppy.... named Jecky...

I think your mother was right. Who will take care of Jecky until 10 o'clock in the evening? Do you think he will potty-train himself? Do you think he will learn how to behave by staying alone the whole day? Dogs need to interact with people, leaving Jecky alone the whole day will make an unsocial puppy from him. I suggest you to find a proper home for him.

My mum will be home until evening then she will put him inside his cage for a few hours until I get home... I think it is better that he stays with me because if I leave him in my mum's home town then I can guarantee that they will not be able to take care of him. Their other dogs are skinny and got skin decease. Nobody wants a puppy, not that I know of and it was good enough that my auntie took them home instead of leaving them in the rain to die. Well, what im saying is that... I will give it my best to take care of the puppy.

I am lucky because I only have to teach him to do his business on a newspaper once, and then after that he goes back to the same spot. FYI, I didn't lock his cage. I only put his box (a cardboard box with my t-shirt inside for warmth) inside the cage. He will goes back inside if he wants to sleep. I didn't lock or close the cage because I want him to sleep inside it, if I lock him up he will be afraid to go in again. My mum takes good care of him, she bathe the dog twice already this week. I know she must be lonely and the puppy is now her some sort of entertainment. We don't allow the dog to enter the house, his place is only outside but of course with a roof... I hope I will be a good owner too.... thank you Octav1...

I hope you will make a good owner for Jecky. Take care because such a young puppy cannot stay locked inside a cage for hours. He will soil the crate and it will become difficult for you to housebreak him. He shouldn't stay inside a crate for more than 2 hours at a time. Take him out to do his business, play with him a little, then you can crate him for another 2 hours.

Bless your aunt for saving those poor little puppies. And bless you chi2nasrin for giving a home to one of them.:) I've never have a dog, but I really love dogs. I just can't have one because I'm not sure if I can provide the best for him/her. My apartment is too small and I'm not earning enough. I wish you'll become best friends with Jecky. Have fun.:)

wow, that's really nice too hear. you're right owning a puppy or any kind of pet is a big responsibility. It's almost like have a child. You have to be responsible enough to take care of it, feed it, play with it, spend time with it and love. I always had pet's But I am not the most responsible owner but still I manage to take care of them and do the things I need to do to take good care of my pets.

You did a great job and a double credit for you. One, you got a loving puppy for yourself and you did a kind heart towards an animal. Both deserve appreciation and I hope you will get a nice time with this puppy. Even at my home, we had a lots of dogs, cat, parrot, rabbit, cow, goat, hen/chicken, duck etc. But it was a time long ago and now all those days become just a sweet memory. Regards

What about the other two? Thanks God, there's another responsible dog nanny out there/ Keep up you're not alone! I have 9 dogs already with me.4 were homeless. I rescued them from dog eaters. They are all mongrels and they are all well here.
