Petrol and other fuels are becoming very expensive and ofcourse its reserves are depleting. Burning too much carbon monoxide is also injurious to our environment. In my city of mysore, the district administration has taken up some very innovative ways to save fuel.Office goers are supposed to take bycyles to office one day a week. Students below 17 years are strictly prohibited from using motor bikes. A seperate lane for bycycle users are created to encourage more people to take up this vehicle.Do you like cycling and will you sacrifice your comforts to help save our environment?

The measures taken by your district administration are worth appreciation and also the citizens who abide by the rules deserve an applaud. Every individual is capable of contributing his share to the society and environment. If my health would permit me I would prefer to go on foot to the nearby places.

Yes its a novel idea. But it remains to be seen how far it will succeed. Its human nature to resist anything that snatches away his comforts. With no more bikes and people having to cycle i think there will be a lot of rssentment.

Hi That sounds good.. he he.. But for those office employees, is it compulsory to use cycle once in a week!!! That is good that you having separate ways for cycle specially.. Yes that can surely encourage people (specially youngsters) to take out their cycle back on roads. If I can have something like here, then I would like to use it too. It is fun in cycle riding too.

Yes the initiative by the local administration is laudable. But it takes the full co operation of the people to succeed. Since its always human nature to reject anything that snatches away his comforts there is going to be a lot of heart buring and resentment before it is accepted

I don't have a job that I need to go to on a regular basis, but I still like to walk as much as I can, as it is good for my health and the environment, I guess. Years ago I used to ride a bicycle, but it is difficult for me to do so now, as I have problems with my balance and I don't like falling, as I can easily break something.

Yes. I will do a lot, not everything, to save this earth. I'm not using plastic bags, I compost my own trash, I don't use materials I don't really need, I make holes in my cemented yard just plant, I collect plastic bags on the streets and braid them to make clothesline, etc. Daniel Dingel, a Filipino inventor, discovered a way to use water as fuel instead of oil. Sadly, the gov't didn't support it. Why? the world is dependent on oil and everybody is making a lot of money from oil. If water becomes our fuel, what would happen to the car industry? And all machines dependent on oil? The Philippine gov't just can't tell it straightly..

Its not possibel for an individual to do everything to save fuel and environment. Allw ecan do is to contribute our bit in the cause. The cumulative effect of each one doing his bit will one day clean this environment of all poisionous matters and help save the earth
