This may be the wrong question for this group, but I wonder if anyone has solved the problem of rain gutters having to be cleaned several times a year. Hubby and I aare just getting to old to climb the ladder and clean these things. We have looked at several guards that keep the leaves out of the gutters, but they also need to be cleaned. I need ideas, folks.

I don't know how tall your house is but there are these one things at the hardware store that extend and bend so you can clean your gutters from the ground. I don't have one but I have seen them. I have those gutter guards and they don't do a lot of good really.

I have not looked into the gutters problems before. I am always looking at the ground problems and not above my head. Since moving into my new house early this year, I've noticed during the recent heavy downpour that water was dripping in my corridor and I guess I've to summon someone to look at the gutters as the problem came from the gutters. DIY is too risky for us who are a little 'bulky' to climb up the stairs.

My landlord hired a maintenance guy to his apartments that used to cleaned the gutters once a year specially when it's raining time here. Last May they already go up to the roof to start clean the gutters because June is the time of the rainy season.

My first thought was gutter guards but I didn't know they needed to be cleaned. My stepmother has a nephew that comes and cleans hers, do you have that luxury? Even if you tilted them downward you'd have to get up and clean them. The only other thing I can think of is to fashion a tool that you can use from the ground instead of having to climb up a ladder.
