Yesterday, I bought a smart phone with Android OS. The reason for buying it was simply I a m interested in mini hotspot functionality. I have three devices at home all with wife enabled. With this new device, I only use one wireless interenet connection from my new Android device set as a mini hotspot. What about you mylotters, if you have several wifi enabled computers, will you use each device with respective moderm or will you use mini hotspot like mine? Which do you prefer, my dear mylotters?

Hi
My smartphone can do that wireless hotspot (tethering) that you speak of, but I have a separate 4G hotspot wireless device that I can use whenever I am away from home. Most phone companies make you pay more for tethering anyway, so I like having the dedicated hotspot device. You can't make calls from it or surf the web with it alone, you must have a computer or tablet, but I can hook 5 devices to it wirelessly, and it's cost is relatively small.

I am sure your devices are all sophisticated and work much faster than mine. How many people are in the house so that you have so many devices?

I use this feature when my DSL line is down and I need a way to have an internet connection for my desktop computer. I also use this feature when we are travelling and the only internet we can access is through our phones(mobile internet)

The mobile phones have now caught up with internet technology. All information is a lot quicker now. Travellers don't need to find internet cafe just to browse the net. They can use their smartphones as a hotspot and share the net with the other travellers.

Yes, the hotspot capabilities of nowadays smartphone is so cool. They allow you to supply internet connections to any device which is within the range. My smartphone is samsung galaxy wonder and it works wonderful in every way. Now my laptop can connect to the internet using my smartphone as hotspot. My phone internet plan is also at an acceptable price.

Hey squallming, it is good to hear that. Is the connection faster? How many computers do you share the connection with? So, with it, it's a lot easier to get connected, isn't it?
