Forgive and Forget

On a previous discussion someone mentioned that you have to forgive people and forget about the hurt or pain that they caused you in order to love forward. However I think that someone has to earn forgiveness. They earn by showing that your forgiveness is worth it and that what they have just asked forgiveness for will not occur again. I think that it's almost impossible to forget what someone has done to hurt you. Is it possible to forgive and forget? What do you guys think?

My dad always tell me always to listen someone's heart and learn to forgive and thus feel better living in this world.I know that this is really a little bit hard for people,that's the reason why you made it that something other people wouldn't do.

I think it is easy to forgive but to forget might actually last for a long time...you will somewhat find hard of forgetting something that a particular person has done to you...

I completely agree with you that for us to forgive and forget, that person has to earn their forgiveness and really show it through their actions and behavior that they are sorry for what they have done and deserve the forgiveness. however, sometimes circumstances or situations that one has gone through make it difficult for you to forgive them and it is not always easy to forget what they did to you either...
