hi everyone! just wanna post a question that you guys could certainly answer. it's some sort of a survey that would help me gain more understanding of how should i exactly deal with my students. My questions include: How do you want your teacher to treat you? and for you, What makes a good teacher in terms of dealing with students? for those who already have graduated, try to go back to the times when you were still students. How did a teacher treat you or how do you want to be treated by your teacher then? you might as well include the impact of your teacher's behavior towards you. your responses about this matter would be of great help. a bunch of thanks to all who care! God bless you.

Treating the student depends on their age.Treatment really varies their level of understanding and maturity.I like my teachers treating me as a friend outside but inside my classroom is a teacher. It's nothing wrong to make friends with your student as long as you put barriers up to where you are going to be involved.Know your limitations and draw lines in between. I want my teacher before to practice professionalism and what i hate most is favoritism. They need to practice fair justice. It's good to know that we are having the same profession in life.

yes, there should be a borderline between the students and the teacher. and teacher also should treat students fairly and avoid discrimination. Remember the code of ethics for professional teacher.

hello, i just want to share an experience back in my high school years. when i was in second high school i had this science teacher who are very strict. no question about her intelligence, she's really good in her subject matter. but i don't like her the way she treated students. when a time she has her discussion in the class, she keeps on asking questions to us,her students. once the student cannot answer she'll let her or him stand until you can answer and i am one of them. one day, when she had her discussion i seated at the back, i felt so bored that time. when she saw me sitting there she approached me and saw my book in social studies on top of my arm chair unopened. she got it and tore some of the pages. i didn't utter some words for i don't know what to say and it keeps me wondering why she did it. i force myself not to cry. since that day i don't like to listen to her. i said to myself that if ever i'll become a teacher i won't be like her and never treated my students like what she did. i realized that i haven't learned something in my biology class. i lost my stamina to study biology. and now, luckily to say i am now a teacher,a social science teacher and i remember my words "i'll never be a terror". as a teacher you should go down to the level of the students in order to understand them. don't set high standards and do not expect so much from your students because once you cannot meet your expectations yo will end up disappointed. It is good to be strict in class, but we should not forget also that we should be approachable and considerate quite sometimes, especially you are handling elementary and high school. i think that could be all! thank you so much!

Hi. I like your topic. I think, as a teacher, we have to appriciate all of our student. We try to find 'something special' from their self eventhough the others look at a student is 'weak student'. Other thing is teacher who creative in making lesson plan. using interesting methode and make variation. Friendly communication surely make them enjoying your class. Happy teaching :)

Teacher's should be approachable whether it is for a student's personal or school-related concern. She can be friendly with her students but at the same time pose that level of authority so as not to over-step that student-teacher boundary.

Teaching is a gift. That is perhaps one of the reasons why teaching is considered as the noblest professions because you are touching and influencing the life of other people. You are a good teacher if you know how to empathize and sympathize your students. A good teacher is someone who knows when to start the lesson and when to insert the motivation. In regard to the student, a good student is someone who knows how to sympathize his teacher and knows when to act and when not to... If you want to be treated good, treat other people the way you wanted them to treat you.

I always wanted a teacher to be kind and understanding. I wanted them to want to teach me something even if it was hard to learn.
