The Population Crisis

I have heard that we're really going to get a lot more people on this planet. There are worries about agriculture being able to feed so many people, plus other resources such as water, doctors and so on. Plus there is also the worry about the impact to our natural environment (wild life and deforestation. What have you heard? What do you think?

The Human race is growing too rapidly currently over 7 billion and counting. I read somewhere that once we reach the 9-10 billion stage things are going to take a turn for the worse. Currently we have enough food production in the world to feed around 9 billion, anything over that food shortages will break out hence why the are trying to genetically make meat from cells. I would not worry about it too much something will be imposed upon us once again like rationing like they did during the world wars, but the real risk is water shortages we can live weeks without food but only days without water. As for the natural environment we are destroying it now and will be doing it always. Until the time the environment turns on us and either deprives us of the air we breath or water we drink.

We really need to sort this planet out before attempting to colonize another maybe if they could work out how to turn mars into another earth then maybe. Things have a canny knack of working itself out here on earth I'm sure some major disaster, world war or disease will knock the human race population down a peg or two or we will start building huge floating cities on the sea surface one way or another something somewhere down the line somebody will fix the crisis.

Yes, it's clear you have a lot of hope. That's good. Thanks.

And the water on this planet is fixed. It's the same as it was thousands of years ago. What do you think about traveling to another planet, like Mars?

the earth has a certain threshold, an occupancy level if you will, and if we keep reproducing at this rate one day soon we will meet that level. at which the earth will not have the necessary resources to sustain life for our species, other animals are also going to need these resources and we need them to sustain life also. this is a scary idea and when we reach it i hope it isnt in my lifetime.

I hope so too, but I worry about the children. They're going to inherit a big problem.

It's a problem of every country right now I guess. I mean in our country they are trying to educate people on family planning because we are ballooning uncontrollably plus the government can't handle the expense anymore (health, education, etc..) I think every country right now is doing their best to control the population in one way or another. I just hope it won't be too late and we might end up all not having enough specially the people who are in the lower classes (poor).

I think China and India have the most people. It's a big problem. What do you thin think we'll run out of first? Food? Or land?

Yes with the rapid increase of population, many of our resources will be not enough to provide. And the society competitive will be more severe,so sometimes I think birth control is right, just aim to protect our planet.

I'm afraid to think about what this world will look like in 30 years. It will be a nightmare. Maybe like food riots and things like that.
